Squats and deadlifts=more lower than upper body mass?

Hi, I was reading an article which said that a routine with squats and deadlifts will put the majority of your muscle gains on the lower body. Is this true? I thought that they stimulated growth over the whole body

Yes, they work the whole body. But I think it would be fairly obvious that squats work your thighs and glutes more than anything else. Deadlifts work glutes and lower back more than anything else, and certainly plenty of quad. While they do work everything, and Deadlifts especially work a lot of upper back, the majority of the emphasis is on lower body.

If you do all of the big lifts, and eat accordingly you will get bigger everywhere.

yes, squats and deadlifts technically work your whole body, but their focus is on the lower body. you shouldnt be expecting a bigger chest from doing squads and deadlifts lol

Squats, bench, deadlifts, overhead press, pullups, powercleans, = all of the big lifts I was referring to.

If you do all of those, and eat a lot you will get bigger everywhere.
Most of your other lifts are just icing on the cake.

I do squats and deads for my lower body. Deads have some carry over to back but not enough to stop upper body work.
