ID they do a lot of push pull meets now no squat just bench and deads. Might be up your ally. No offense but as easy as it might be for you genetically to compete in BBing you like being strong too much always saw ya as more of a PLer. That's without the fact in BBing your fate is totally subjective and up to judges. The lack of clear cut rules/win/loose might drive you nuts

Thanks man,....I'll take that as a compliment for sure.
I have never quite figured out what blend between bodybuilder and powerlifter I am. Since I dont really enjoy the high volume, pump type workouts that many bodybuilders do, I would tend to say my desire leads more towards lifting heavy things. Factor in the competitive spirit, (and not just subjective competition) and powerlifting wins hands down. (for me).
I have 5 more months to go....when I get there, I will re-evaluate for sure.
My background is in construction (both residential and commercial).
Just to shoot some numbers out. Residential MINIMUM floor load design standards are 40lbs / sq ft.
This means that a 4x8 area (anywhere along the floor including mid-span) would support 1280lbs. These are evenly distributed weights
The floor of the home I live in, has larger chord modern TJI (truss joist) engineered floors. While code for deflection is L/360, these floors easily exceed L/480.
I have not taken the time to do it, but I am guessing that the floors as designed would easily meet requirements for 60+lbs/sqft.
Those ratings have a safety factor of 1.5-2.0. (meaning actual catastrophic failure happens at much higher levels then rated values)
I placed all my heavy weights in areas within the first 1/3 of the span of the joists. (meaning the floor is much stronger there then rated value). It also has a load bearing wall directly below)
I put a double layer of 3/4 down as a platform to help distribute the load across multiple joists.
Now dropped weights are a concern with floors with OSB underlayment. While having equal span abilities, OSB lacks impact resistance that conventional plywood has. Having said that, a dropped weight might cause a break in the plywood, but I would only see this happening with a small concentrated load. (say dropping a 120lb dumbell right on the corner). With 5 plates on, the contact area is actually spread out fairly decently.
While building homes it was not uncommon to take a crane or Lull and set full stacks of plywood on a floor system in preparation for sheathing. A full stack of T&G 3/4 OSB weighs over 5000lbs. This is on a floor with no lateral bracing applied yet (drywall bottom and secured plywood on top). Once braced, the load carrying ability of the floor is greatly increased as the joists dont deflect latterly under applied load.
So....there it is.....so you guys dont think I am totally nuts. Were I not as familiar with these things, I would not feel as comfortable. That said, I still dont drop weights of any kind. Not because I am worried about weights going through the floor....but rather having to fix all the nail pops!RAW lifts

This is what I'm most proud of over the last week. It was heavier than the 740 pound frame I deadlifted in training for this ( notice the extra 100's loaded on the frame hear the handles ).
And this is a close second, a huge yoke walk PR for me, at nationals no less...

Was meant as a compliment.
Sad thing is I followed every single part of the construction dissertation. Made me miss working for a living. All residential for me and more in tile/marble but some very high end built a few houses as well.
Am surprised you let ten use OSB for your subfloors unless of coarse ya didn't built it yourself.Excuses are like A-holes everyone's got 1...............

Lol at the lower pic being banned on meetme. The story is that people get mad when I post pics (or stories from my life) all the way since 2007, chiefly on swedish boards, on one discussion board I was banned instantly when posting a physique pic, "troll"... (it was not a bodybuilding board but it was a bodybuilding/physique/weight thread)

This is a good thread man and posting nude pics with a fig leaf is like ****ting on the whole thread and the people who posted legit pics/vids. Have a small amount of class and or respect for the people who put in work and keep this thread what it's meant for.
C'mon over to the o35 misc and post these till your hearts content we will have lots of lulz. Just be respectful in this thread man.Excuses are like A-holes everyone's got 1...............

Not nude, but it was funny that meetme censored it like I said. Also like I said, I haven't posted my pics elsewhere without people getting angry for real. You aren't ready for natural bodybuilding, that's all.

If people get angry every time you post them.....then take the hint. I think you are just being a troll and get off on getting people annoyed. Anyway....the point has been made clear here in the >35 and especially this thread. We dont need your bull sh!t in here. Go play in the Misc. And hit the gym while you are at it if you are going to hang out on a bodybuilding website.
