Crossfit is really starting to annoy me. I have a new Crossfit gym down the street from my house. I wouldn't have a problem with it if they kept to themselves. In fact, it is amusing watching them run in slow motion down the street. However, they are LOUD as hell. The guys are always outside yelling and screaming at the people running in slow motion. Worse though is the stupid tractor tires. I'll be sitting in my house relaxing and hear this BOOM..........BOOM............BOOM....from them picking up tires and slamming them down. The sound carries quite far and is annoying as hell.

This crossfit **** makes me fukking rage.
Brb I like dikk in and around my mouth and anus so I'm going to flop around on a bar and do 100 momentum kipping pullups and claim to everyone that I can do 100 normal pullups.
106 kipping pullups? What a fukking joke. I can do 39 normal chinups in a row, brb went and attempted kipping pullups and managed to do 170 before i stopped because my hands were tearing apart.
Brb able to go on for a good 200-250 reps if my hands had gloves on, these *******s...not an achievement at all

Crossfit is a specialised form of training which has no bearing to any other sport.
Crossfit is a fad. Is just a marketing gimmick to sell strength and conditioning workouts.
Bottom line, unless you're competing in crossfit events or want to do it for enjoyment ( god bless your body), crossfit has no place in proffessional sports.
And for good measure heres Joe Defranco's take on it.

TL : DR - crossfit is a marketing gimmick. People mistake general srength and conditioning workouts for crossfit.

lolwut, I could do over 9000 of those
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.
-I'd rather live life saying "I failed" than "I could have"

lol what a great thread...There's a bunch of crossfit ppl at my gym now and it sucks because they take up so much of the little space we have and are loud as hell. I also see them doing these kip ups (as I call them) all the time and laugh when I do more full ROM weighted pull-ups with a 45lb plate. I'm smaller than all of them and yet lift more weight than almost all of them (that's total weight, not pound for pound, they can't even compare at that level). OP repped.

People that say "functional strength" when it comes to kipping pullups need an uppercut.
In what real world situation does a kipping pullup or even a regular pullup come in handy?
Muscle-ups are the "functional" exercise, it's the movement you do when you're climbing up onto something, which is why people that do parkour train them extensively.
brb bringing my chest up to a bar 100 times does what in real life? GTFO with your "functional" crap if it's not an actual movement that can be used in a real life scenario.
Dat dere functional strength from muscle ups, zooms up walls.
