I couldn't be happier to be lifting right now, you guys. Based on that last workout, I might have a 315 paused bench in me - how sick would that be? And if I have a 315 paused, I certainly have a 315 touch-and-go!

Neddo, I've only used two tabs once, on my first workout. It seemed fine and fun, I've just stuck to 3 since since it hasn't induced any problems. And I don't know what you're talking about, "jugs" is a very dignified word. I'll theme a post for you with "women with great personalities" sometime. Sadly, today is not that day... Today is sideboob day.

KwayZee, thanks, man, again, I'm so incredibly pleased with this.

To properly wrap up the last post:

I'm pissed, I've typed this up three times and it hasn't gone through, and at this point it's a bitch to retype. Crossing my fingers, and I apologize, but if this works (and it should, I'll be copy + pasting from here on out) I'm going to do an abridged version.

    Shoulders and Triceps

    CGBP 2 sets of 6 w/ 235 lbs.
    Seated OHP 1 set of 6 w/ 155 lbs., 1 set of 5
    Snatches 2 singles w/ 165, 1 set of 5 w/ 135
No rear delt work due to broken machine
    Abs

I took 3 tablets of WB2 45 minutes pre-workout, w/ 70g CHO. Somewhat significantly, I took it in the form of a bagel and large glass of milk, whereas I usually do almost pure liquid - no problems and I felt good. Who knew bagels had 51g CHO apiece, though? Sara Lee onion bagels do, apparently, holy ****. Not much of a pump except in my lats from the snatches, endurance was fine, I think I'll always slip a little on my second set of OHP regardless of any supplementation, and all-in-all a pretty average day for WB2, which is pretty damn good.

No girls today, I've gone to get links three times and I'm wiped and ready to sleep. I'll make the next post extra-large. :P

Haha I know, right?! It's unbelievable, I remember days where I've eaten like four bagels and a ****ton of oranges... That'd be like 300g carbs in one meal alone. Goddamn.

    Sunday, February 26, 2012 - Cleans/Legs/Back

    Cleans
    135 x 3
    155 x 2
    185 x 1
    205 x 2
    215 for 3 misses
    205 x 2
I'm not ****ing dipping. I know I'm strong enough to hit 215, I just have to get myself to move under the weight and catch it in the bottom of the squat position. It's stupid, I can push press or squat anything that gets on my shoulders, this is just a mental failure on my part.

    Front Squats
    95 x 5
    185 x 3
    225 x 2
    275 x 1
    315 for 3 sets of 2 PR...?
I have the strength for a triple, my wrists just gave out somewhere on the second rep, in all three sets, which is even more unfortunate. I gutted the second rep up on all three in an awkward, precarious position. Maybe 'cause I did these after cleans...? I don't know, but I'm pissed. It was fun to get 3 plates on the bar, though.

    Deadlifts
    275 x 3
325 x 3 Felt good today, really quick.

    3-4" Deficit Deadlifts
    275 for 10 singles w/ 45 seconds rest
    275 x 10
What. The. ****. My deficit deads actually feel stronger than my regular deads, maybe because I can use more legs or it puts me in better form...? I couldn't believe I got ten reps, and I could've strained for a few more. These are supposed to be harder than off the floor.

    Barbell Rows
    205 x 5
    205 x 6

    Pull-Ups
3 sets of 6 at BW
    Nothing left.[/center]

Just a weird workout. How the hell do I miss the third rep on all three sets of front squats? How am I getting 10 reps on 275 w/ deficit deads, when I struggle with 3 w/ 325 off the floor? I don't know whether to be happy that I potentially have these numbers in me or pissed that all the big lifts were off.

I'm taking a deload next week. I need it, for one, and it coincides w/ midterm season nicely.

Product Notes: I took 3 tablets of WB2 45 minutes pre-workout, with 35g carbs from a portion of Gatorade. I felt fine, and notably, I didn't get a low back pump today, which was fantastic and means a lot to me. Upper back is still pumped, and doing this session a mere 3 days after my last squat session shows recovery's going perfect, the best it's ever been.

Today, I have to bring you all the nicest Asian body I've ever seen:

Definitely interesting on your comment concerning your 3-4" Deficit Deadlifts. That's awesome, bro. I have no experience with deficit deads, but I recently read an article about various other ways of improving the standard deads. And lol@ the "best azn body ever." Keep killing it, Apo!

Thanks, guys, means a lot, not even kidding. Deficit deads seem to be great for working on breaking it off the floor and getting some real speed going on a full ROM, although my sticking point's never been the ground, it's usually a foot or two above or right at lockout, even.

Worked hard the last two days and my deload week starts now. Has to happen sometime, and I could definitely use it, particularly on bench and deads.

    Tuesday, February 28, 2012 - Chest/Tris
    Paused Bench Press (1-Mississippi count)
    Warm-Ups
    225 x 3
    245 x 3
    265 x 3
    285 x 3 PR!
Last week felt so good, but this was a real 3RM for me. I think my body's just tired.

    Bench TAG
    250 x 6

    Wide-Grip Bench Press
    230 for 2 sets of 6 PR!

    Dead Bench
    255 for 2 singles, 1 minute rest
    245 for 4 singles, 1 minute rest
    235 for 2 singles, 1 minute rest
Holy **** everything felt heavy. Each and every rep on this felt insanely hard, I'm a bit bummed but ah well, it's not too bad.

    DB Flies
    37.5 DB's for 3 sets of 10 PR!

    Front Lateral Raises
    4 x 3 w/ 30 lb. DB's, strict! PR!
Holy ****, when you focus on isolating that front delt? This **** was hard.

    EZ-Bar Curls
90 lbs. for 3 sets of 6 PR!

    Abs
Hit these hard, feeling good about it. I want to start moving toward a standing Wheel of Death, I can do over 20 from kneeling but still no standing.

    Wednesday, February 29, 2012 - Legs/Back
    Squats (A2G)
    Warm-Ups
    295 x 3
    345 x 5 PR!
I've been going up 10 lbs. every single week, and sometimes an extra rep or two, too. This is amazing.

    Explosive Squats, 1 min. rest
    255 for 8 sets of 3

Paused Squats (2-3 seconds in the A2G position)
    260 x 5
    265 x 5 PR!
Still not totally to failure, but it's going up well every week, I'm more than satisfied.

    Pull-Ups
BW for 2 sets of 7, 2 sets of 6

    Barbell Bent-Over Rows
    205 x 5
195 x 6 (focusing on proper mind-muscle, strict and isolating what I want in the back)

    Abs

I totally forgot to do rear delt work on my bench day, but I'll live, no sweat. I've truly begun to cherish my squat sessions, and I think the crazy progress this last month is responsible for that haha. It's been at least a 30 lbs. and 2 rep increase in 3-4 weeks, no joke, and my form and depth are spot-on, the best they've ever been.

Product Notes 3 tablets of WB2 both days, with 60g CHO from a bagel and glass of orange juice, 50-55 minutes pre-workout. No pumps to speak of on leg day, although I got a strong shoulder one going yesterday on my bench day, was pretty thrilled about that. Back pump is mild and almost constant, I probably have one more often than I don't. I'm setting PR's session to session, but no matter how much WB2 may help recovery, my body could use a deload before it starts falling apart, and it's tough to take them but I know I'm a bit run down. I'll be starting that soon, the first deload workout is the day after tomorrow.

I'm out to meet a professor about a research position, but I'll update with some girls later on haha. Have a good one, guys.

What I'm amazed at is no low back pump following deficit deads, cleans, front squats, and bb rows (btw have you tried pendlays?) -- that's awesome. I didn't do as much back-heavy stuff as you today, but I also had no back pump so I know how great it felt haha.

Dude means a lot coming from you. These last 3-4 weeks have been some of the best lifting I've ever done, been PR-ing each session (minus deadlifts haha) at higher frequency and I couldn't be happier. If I PR at half this speed, I'll be tackling a 405 A2G squat for reps by the end of summer, which'd be flat-out awesome.

And I would kill not to have a lower back pump some days. Honestly, swear to God, dude, I think one thing that really gets it going is just loading and unloading the weight on the platform somehow. Hope everything's going great with you and I'll jump in in a heartbeat on any log you got in the future, tracking your progress (and women :P) would be a pleasure.

    Awww yeah.

I tried typing the post from two days ago up three times, and somehow this website gutted me on all three! Haha I'll type it up with yesterday's workout!

    Friday, March 2, 2012 - Chest/Shoulders/Tris Deload
    Close-Grip Bench Press
    135 x 5
    165 x 3
    195 x 2
    205 for 2 sets of 5
Felt heavier than I thought, but still 30 lbs. and a couple reps off my PR.

    Seated Military Press
    135 for 2 sets of 4
These were insanely explosive, the fastest they've ever been. Very pleased, was extremely easy.

    Rear Delt Fly Machine
    175 for 3 sets of 6
PR is for sets of 15, so pretty easy. Cool!

    Now onto some snatch work...

    Snatches + 2 A2G Overhead Squats
    95 x 3
    115 x 1
    135 x 5
Overhead squats are sick, they force you to stay so tight, from your arms to your core to your legs. I think they'll be great for mobility, too.

Product Notes: Since today was a deload, this wasn't really a chance to test WB2's capabilities, and it showed. I have no idea how recovery and endurance might've been since I didn't push the weights, and I didn't get a pump at all. However, for reference's sake, I took 3 tablets of WB2 55 minutes pre-workout. One thing I will say I was stricken with is how many tablets I still have left - my number one aversion to buying supplements is the price for the amount given, especially since the dosage supplement companies list usually doesn't have enough of the active ingredients (as they're often awkward proprietary blends), so you end up taking two scoops, etc. White Blood 2 delivers great pumps and I still see a lot of value in the bottle, and I can't emphasize enough how much that means to me in buying a product. May be the number one reason I may buy this personally after finishing the log.

    Saturday, March 4, 2012 - Deadlifts/Legs/Back
No cleans or front squats today, I should've done front squats.

    Deadlifts
    135 x 5
    185 x 3
    225 x 3
    275 x 3
    335 for 2 sets of 3
My grip strength sucks balls, I had to switch to a mixed grip for the third rep of each set. I'll try to incorporate some grip work periodically.

    Speed Deadlifts
8 sets of 3 on the minute, at 245 lbs.

    Hip Thrusters
    135 x 8
    225 x 8
    275 x 8
    295 x 8
    315 x 8 PR!
First time doing these! Did with my upper body elevated and with a 1-second pause at the top. I like them and I'll keep on working with them.

    Pull-Ups
3 sets of 7 at BW

    Reverse Hyperextensions
3 sets of 15 at BW
Finally found a place to do these in my gym. I'll find a good way to load them before next week, probably a dumbbell between my feet.

Pendlay Rows supersetted w/ BW Pistol Squats
    165 for 3 sets of 8 // 3 sets of 8 at BW
Pistol squats are fun, nothing to failure, just wanted to do some random light leg work.

It was a lot of fun, I know this isn't a deload but my upper body seems to need it more. I know the CNS needs time to recover too, but hopefully it'll work alright. I'll nail a bench deload tomorrow then heavy squatting the day after.

Product Notes: Low back pumps can suck a nut, I did a ridiculous amount of adding and removing weight from the bar on the ground, which usually adds to the pump. Nice pump in the upper back though and a little bit in the hamstrings, for once, off of 3 tablets of WB2 1 hour and 5 minutes pre-workout, taken with a bage. Deadlifts felt heavy as balls but they always do, and I hope it improves with some added volume, which'll hopefully help me improve my form, too, with the added reps. Felt good about WB2 today.

Hope you guys are doing great.

    Dude!

    1) Reverse hypers I'm doing for fun, but God knows I need some more hamstring work, I've been shafting it. It's like a hyperextension but you're raising your legs instead of your upper body - so you'd be lying on a bench with your legs hanging off, and raising and lifting those. It's not gonna raise my squat numbers haha I'm crediting the added volume and a little speed work with that, but it's fun and I'll be working on it.

    2) Hip thrusters are literally humping the bar up and down.
    Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVlQhlKf-5Q
It's glute work! Haha hoping it helps my deadlift, too!

    3) Pistol squats were just for fun, purely, no joke. I wanted to do some leg work in between sets that didn't involve me running over to load a bar. But they're single-legged squats going all the way down.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEBol54EjVE
CrossFit dudes idolize these, but they're not strength at all, it's mostly just a balance gimmick + a little mobility. I could do them when I was squatting 165 above parallel for 5-6 reps haha, and I'm a bit beyond that now.

If I could say one thing that's helped my squat, it's heavy high-rep leg presses a while ago (just like 1 balls-to-the-wall set of 20, like 10-11 plates per side, but you can literally go up like a plate per side every workout haha at the start) and now some speed work plus pause squats after, it's just some extra good volume. I'm really liking it and I can't wait to squat tomorrow. I don't know if I have an A2G 405 squat in me yet haha, but when I get 365x5 I think I'll have it!

    Monday, March 5, 2012 - Chest/Tris Deload
    Flat Barbell Bench Press
    135 x 5
    165 x 4
    195 x 3
    225 x 3 (paused)
Felt so light but I know I gotta take my deload. No sweat, I'll go for the PR next time.

    Bench Touch-And-Go
    205 x 6
    Haha fast as balls.

    Wide-Grip Bench Press
    185 for 2 sets of 6

    Dips
1 set of 10 at BW
Haha way easier than I thought.

    Dumbbell Flies
45 lbs. per arm for 3 sets of 8 PR!

    Rear Delt Fly Machine
    175 for 3 sets of 6

    Box Jumps
BW x 5 to high box
    2 25 lb. DB's x 5
    2 30 lb. DB's x 5
    5 Depth Jumps

Product Notes: Still a deload, nothing really to speak of, although I did go fairly hard on the flies. No pump to speak of and hard to comment on recovery and endurance, but I felt good and zero nausea from 3 tablets of WB2 45 min. pre-workout w/ 50g CHO. No problem here.

Gonna squat hard tomorrow and hope for the best. Going for anywhere from 3-5 reps with 355, for another 10 lb. PR. Psyched.

Haha I didn't even notice that, man, you have serious attention to detail. Challenge accepted: find a girl so hot you wouldn't be able to note her fingernails if you tried.

Today in the gym? Bllalaaaaaahh. **** it, man, oh well. Not too bad anyway, and I didn't take White Blood 2 today as I had no time to return to my apartment from class. Maybe I would've had an awesome day with it? Who knows! Regardless, I didn't use it!

    Tuesday, March 6, 2012 - Legs/Back
    Squats
    135 x 5
    185 x 3
    225 x 3
    275 x 1
305 x 3 This already felt heavy as balls.
355 x 2 ... Want that triple. This was dumb and ridiculous, after last week's success with 345x5 (although last rep was slightly good morning-y haha).
    355 x 3 PR!
Got it, I had shifted forward on the first attempt at 355x3. I was ran down, though, I should've just deloaded squat, too, and given myself the recovery. Not a problem and I'll learn and work hard.

    Explosive Squats
8 sets of 3 on the minute w/ 265 PR!

    Paused Squats
    270 x 5
    275 x 5 PR!
2-3 count in the hole, A2G.

    Pull-Ups
    3 sets of 7

    Reverse Hypers
2 sets of 15 w/ a 10 lb. DB hanging between my feet

Should've gone harder on the back work, but I was out of it and feeling run down. Pissed me off how today went and I'll come back and hit it hard next week, probably stay at the same weight and go for another couple reps. They're legit A2G squats, but this sucked. I'll get video next time.

No product notes because I did not take White Blood 2 today. I'll get some girls up soon, I have to get a project done at a friend's apt. again.

So 305 for three reps felt heavy as shiit.

Lets add 50 lbs and get a PR on the next next set. Lol, I would've chickened out -- good pushing through and getting what you had in ya mane. 355x3 is the tits.

With the Explosive Squats, what's meant by 3 reps on the minute? I have an idea, but just doubling it by your to make sure. Good luck with the project brosef, I'm about to get started on one myself... while on break.

Haha I like lifting too much, man. If I hit a PR in a workout, then the rest of my day is usually pretty sweet, too. I honestly think 345 x 5 might be the superior lift over 355 x 3, but I have no idea... Explosive squats on the minute is just starting up a stopwatch and starting a set every time a multiple of 1 minute passes. So the rest periods are 1 minute minus however long it takes to do the set, probably somewhere decently under 5 seconds. No real reason for doing it that way except it's easier to track on the timer haha.

Starting a project on break, though? Damn, dude, props for the work ethic haha! Hope that goes well, man!

Had a good workout yesterday that I forgot to log, and a great one today. Here they are:

    Thursday, March 8, 2012 - Chest/Shoulders/Tris
    Close-Grip Bench Press
    Bar x whatever
    135 x 5
    175 x 3
    205 x 3
    235 x 2
    240 for 2 sets of 7 PR!
Index and middle on smooth, I did 235 for 2 sets of 6 before the deload so this is awesome. Still struggling to find the right groove on these but i liked it!

    Seated Military Press
    155 for 2 sets of 7
These always take a huge hit after other exercises or for reps higher than 5, so no complaints.

    Strict Front Lateral Raises
    3 x 3 w/ 30 lb. DB's
Fawking hard. The third rep on all the sets was a little shaky haha, but weirdly enough, if I drop to a 25 lb. DB I can get a lot more than 3... Experimenting, I guess!

    Rear Delt Fly Machine
175 lbs. for 2 sets of 15, 1 set of 11 PR for sets!

Some light snatch practice + overhead squats, technique work.

    EZ-Bar Bicep Curls
    90 lbs. for 2 sets of 8, 1 set of 6 PR!

Felt good and I'll go for 290 x 3 on paused bench in 3 days, just have to eat right. Leaving UCLA for Washington, DC in 2-3 weeks, but there seems to be a YMCA I can use within walking distance of where I'm staying. I may drive down to Long Beach for 1 Olympic lifting coaching session, haha. I figure I'll use the knowledge well enough and it'd go a long way.

Product Notes: Took 3 tablets 1 hour and 10 minutes pre-workout with a blueberry bagel, 54g CHO. I got a good bicep pump and a little in the shoulders, although the shoulder one faded soon after the workout ended - bicep pump lasted throughout the night. I felt good and the numbers are moving up, and my frequency's higher than it's ever been so I definitely suspect WB2's helping me out a little bit. I wouldn't have dreamed of working out 2 days on 1 day off before, as I ran M/W/F only for a long time, and now it's working great for me.

Had a good workout today, deadlift and clean are moving up. I have not cleaned in about two weeks either, although I've done some snatch work.

    Friday, March 9, 2012 - Cleans/Deadlifts
    Cleans
    135 x 3
    165 x 1
    185 x 1
    205 x 1
215 for 5 singles, about 30 seconds rest apart
I experimented a little with my starting position today, as well as using my lats to sweep the bar inward a little more. It paid off big time and this felt great. I've only ever hit 215 once before, with plenty of misses on the same day, and I hit all five this time in a pair of horrid sneakers no less.

On the con side, it was like doing super power cleans today. I did not dip at all and I'm not sure why I struggle so much with simply doing the third pull.

I went and actually set up an appointment for next weekend with an Olympic lifting gym in Long Beach, though, so hopefully we can work it out! It's an hour away (with good LA traffic haha), but the guy's really good (Sean Waxman), and I'm beyond thrilled to go.

    Front Squats
    225 x 3
    275 x 2
    315 for 3 sets of 3
    275 x 1
Wrist flexibility sucked balls today somehow, maybe 'cause I haven't been cleaning as much and didn't front squat during my deload week. I know my legs have it in them, but I gotta stay tall and get my elbows up, even if it's uncomfortable. They actually gave out after my 1 rep at 275 that I had meant as semi-form work.. :[ Hit my work sets though so can't complain too much. I'll work on the rack position on my shoulders a little bit and see if I can get the setup/wrist flexibility up to par.

    Deadlifts
    225 x 3
    265 x 3 (realized I had a 35 lb. bar at this point...)
    345 x 4 PR!
I had at least one more in me, and it felt really clean. Used the same cues as I did for my clean starting position, sweeping the bar inward and playing around with setup. Sick! AND NO LOW BACK PUMP WHAT'S GOOD

    Speed Deadlifts
255 for 6 sets of 3 (held the last rep of all sets for 5-10 seconds for some grip work)

Hip Thrusts (2-second pause at top)
    225 x 8
    315 x 8
    335 x 8 PR!
    335 x 8
Never got a glute burn before today haha. I'm playing around with my form and I think I got it close to perfect for getting the glutes involved.

    Pull-Ups
2 sets of 8 at BW, 1 set of 6

Pendlay Rows supersetted with Reverse Hyperextensions
    165 for 3 sets of 8 // 15 lb. DB between legs for 3 sets of 15

I had a great day today, and deadlifts are finally going up. Starting with the new setup and lat cues helped a lot, and I had no lower back pump at all, which makes things even better. Front squats are up 1 rep on the third set, but I know my wrists and perhaps core are the limiting factors, so that's something I can work on. Couldn't be happier.

Product Notes: WB2 was sick today and I was in the gym for a long-ass time, probably an hour and a half, so I'm really pleased. Took 3 tabs 55 minutes pre-workout with 54g carbs in blueberry bagel form, and it owned. No leg pump to speak of, not even much in my back today uncharacteristically, and no lower back pump either which ****ing rules. I felt strong throughout the entire session, as exhausting as it was, endurance was through the roof today and it was a real high point of the product for me.

Neddo, Pendlay Rows own. Haha thanks, man!

Not a bad session today, hit all my goals, although there were quite a few grinders in there.

    Sunday, March 11, 2012 - Bench Press

    Paused Bench Press (1-Mississippi count)
    135 x 5
    175 x 3
    205 x 2
    225 x 3
    245 x 3
    265 x 3
    290 x 3 PR!
Last rep was a hard grinder, but I got this. I may switch back to tough-and-go to see how the pausing has carried over next week, hopefully get 295x3 TAG!

    Touch-and-Go Bench Press
    255 x 5

    Wide-Grip Bench Press
    230 for 2 sets of 5

Dead Bench (Pin Press for singles right off chest)
245 for 8 singles on the minute

    Dumbbell Flies
45 lbs. for 3 sets of 10 PR!

    Rear Delt Fly Machine
190 lbs. for 3 sets of 10 PR!
Hoping to get 3 sets of 12 next week.

    Abs

Not bad, I may switch back to a hard set of touch-and-go bench next week and hope the pausing carries over well.

Product Notes: I was tired as balls all day before I went to the gym, had no energy and I probably owe WB2 hard for giving me a good session. I took 3 tablets 1 hour pre-workout, with 54g carbs from a blueberry bagel. I had zero nausea and I felt ready to go, along with solid endurance throughout the workout - endurance was the high point for me this session. I enjoyed today and I'll keep working hard. Not much of a pump today though, to be honest.

I had at least one more in me, and it felt really clean. Used the same cues as I did for my clean starting position, sweeping the bar inward and playing around with setup. Sick! AND NO LOW BACK PUMP WHAT'S GOOD

    Best posts itt

The Pendlays are definitely more of a total back contraction which I really enjoyed, at least IMO. Glad you picked them up and are making use of them bro

PRs and strong front squats, as usual haha. Good to see you're playing with form and MMC as well -- experimentation can definitely be fun. I was getting there before going ape**** boarding, lol.

Haha the more I look at that picture, the more I like that girl. It's awesome. And hey, I'm gonna stick with Pendlays for a while, I really like them.

    Monday, March 12, 2012 - Squats/Back
    Squats (A2G)
    135 x 5
    185 x 5
    225 x 4
    275 x 3 Warm-ups felt perfect and quick.
    315 x 3
    365 x 2
Wanted the triple, but I didn't have it in me, and the second rep was a slight good morning. I had gotten 355x3 last week. I've never used a belt, but I'm thinking about it now... It's just a shame knowing the limiting factor isn't your legs. I'll hammer the core work first and see how it goes.

    Explosive Squats
255 for 8 sets of 3, on the minute PR for sets!
First 5 sets were blazing fast, last three weren't bad, just not as explosive.

Paused Squats (3-Mississippi count in the hole)
    275 x 5
    280 x 5 PR!

    Pull-Ups
BW for 3 sets of 8 w/ neutral, wide, chin-up grip

    Glute-Ham Raise
3 sets of 10 at BW w/ slow negatives

    Pendlay Row
    165 for 3 sets of 10 PR!

    I'll do abs later tonight.

This wasn't my best workout, and although the assistance work went okay, I need to back off next week and not actually hit failure. I'll do everything I can to fix it in the meantime, my diet's taken a hit with finals and research, and that's something I can fix by just waking up 20 minutes earlier and cooking.

I'm going to get this back on track. Regardless, it's up from 295 x 5 probably 5-6 weeks ago, and I've made huge strides. My plans for the near lifting future involve finding a gym as soon as possible in DC, getting my back volume up, and just dialing everything in. If I commit one hundred percent, my lifts will go up.

White Blood 2 was hard to notice today, but I just didn't have it in me and this is no shortcoming of the product. I shot high and fell short, and all I can do is come back and work hard next week. I have six tablets left; that's two workouts, so this log will be coming to a close in three days. It's been a great experience and I'm thankful for the opportunity.

I'd go ape**** over either of these girls.

Lifting-wise, though, I'm tired and weary but I'll keep working. I have finals next week, as UCLA's on the quarter system, and my sleep and diet have been in the gutter with final projects and additional research. I'm currently doing 25 hours per week of extracurriculars on top of my courseload, but I always have a little time to perfect what I'm doing and this is a priority of mine. Hope you guys are well.

No image updates today, sorry guys, but just squeezed in a quick workout before a dinner date and I'm sorry to report that this is my second-to-last log update for this journal. I have 3 tabs of White Blood 2 left, and I'll be using them sometime in the next couple days - I'm due for a hard deadlift workout, but I'm not sure if I should hold off on it until after my two Oly lifting sessions Friday and Saturday.

    Regardless, here's how today went.

    Wednesday, March 14, 2012 - Chest/Shoulders/Tris
    Close-Grip Bench Press
    135 x whatever
    175 x 3
    205 x 3
    235 x 2
    245 for 2 sets of 7 PR!

    Seated Military Press
    160 lbs. x 8
    160 lbs. x 6
This **** suffers so much from being second in a workout, probably like 20 lbs., and even doing multiple sets of high reps is hard for me. Still a rep PR!

    Rear Delt Fly Machine
    190 lbs. for 3 sets of 12

Product Notes: I took 3 tablets of White Blood 2 45 minutes pre-workout, with 35g carbs. I did not suffer any nausea. The last time I tried 3 tabs with WB2, there was mild discomfort that went away once I actually started working out; this time there was nothing at all. I do not know if that's a function of having taken it for the last month, the type of carbs I ate (today was a sandwich), or what. I had solid endurance through the short workout, and I did get a good shoulder pump, although it's gone now - it probably lasted about two hours.

In and out, happy Pi Day, guys. Hope you're all well.

I'm gonna move to Washington, D.C. and lift without a pre-workout for a while haha! I don't want to build a tolerance, and I can't say if I know if I'll be using any supplements at all the next couple months, maybe a casein protein or protein blend, but that's it. I may change my mind and go for it, who knows.

    Here's the final workout:

    Thursday, March 15, 2012 - Deadlifts
    Deadlifts
    Warm-Ups
    295 x 3
    355 x 4 PR!
I know I have a little more in me, too. I know it sounds cocky to say that, but the school platform's broken so there's a lot of give in it - it's a little unstable to push from. Still got a 10 lb. PR!

    Speed Deadlifts
6 sets of 3 at 255 lbs. on the minute

    Front Squats
    285 for 2 sets of 5
Wanted more wrist flexibility work before Friday. Felt good.

    Reverse Hyperextensions
BW+20 lb. DB between legs for 3 sets of 15 PR!

Done. I didn't have time for back work, I had a study group... Finals weeks is next week. I'll get some pull-ups and rows in ASAP, I know it's bad form to miss but I hit what I wanted to. Also been doing hip thrusters recently, didn't quite get that in either.

Product Notes: Severe low back pump today, as well as a slight one in the hamstrings, which was really cool and kind of sick. I felt incredibly tired after the deadlifts, but once I started front squatting my head was back in it and I felt energized and ready to go. Finished it out well. 3 tabs and two pop tarts and no nausea.

I had two Olympic lifting sessions yesterday and today, and if anyone's interested, here's what I got out of it:

I had an absolutely SICK time at the Olympic lifting gym, the girl helping me was fantastic and exactly what I needed, the first day was almost purely overhead squat work plus snatches from the high hip and hang; the second was more snatch work, with some power cleans from the same high positions. I did not lift heavy while I was there, it was mostly drills and the heaviest weight I ever lifted was 30kg. I'm still very much sore in certain parts of my body, particularly the lats. Here's some of the main things for me to take away from it, though, and I'm looking forward to making as much use of what I've learned as possible -

    - Using the lats to keep the bar in tight all the way through the second pull. It's not just through the start of the hip and knee extension, but all the way through, and I actively have to keep pressure on the bar there as much as possible.
    - Keeping my center of balance over the middle of the foot, not the heel. I had/have a habit of staying more on my heels, whether it be a squat or a pull or anything, and it limits the stability of the lift as well as the extent to which I can generate force with my legs. It really did make a difference with my pulls.
    - Achieving full extension of the hips and knees. Not that I wasn't extending before, but I would cut it short and try to move under the bar prematurely. It took a while, but I can finally feel the difference now and know when I shafted a certain part of the extension after the lift... doesn't mean I'm fully extending now every time, but hopefully it sets a precedent for me starting to fix it.
    - The importance of mobility work in general. I struggled so much with certain positions, it was ridiculous - my hip mobility was decent, persay, after what I've been doing, but I'm very much tight in certain shoulder movement patterns, the pectorals, and even lats.
    - A couple others I may be forgetting or are of lesser value

I plan on buying a pair of Oly lifting shoes before I go to D.C. later this week, as well as a lacrosse ball for some rolling work. I think the shoes'll be great for what I want to do, and even without them I think I can take my squats in the right direction as well, with not putting all my weight on my heels and getting my legs more involved.

I couldn't have been more excited to work on it, and I did see a couple things in the gym that I thought were remarkable. One 18 year-old boy had a front squat and clean that were identical at 120 kilos - my front squat triple is 40kg higher than my clean, so this blew my mind. A 76 year-old lady was also doing back squats for sets of 5, as well as some snatch drills, which was equally if not more impressive.

I'm glad I went and I hope I've set a foundation to work from in the future. I know the time I spent is not enough, but with a little luck what I learned today will make a substantial difference versus what I was doing before, and provide me with a basis for understanding the rest of what I need to do with these lifts.

    Couldn't be happier.

    On White Blood 2:

I will be getting my final review up soon, likely type it up tomorrow. It's been a joy to log it, and I'm thankful to Controlled Labs for the opportunity.

I just put up the final review in the products section!
    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...#post850614313

I wasn't too sure what to include, but if there's anything else you'd like to see or hear about, just let me know and it's not a problem. If you guys want progress pictures or anything, just say the word, I'll do what I can.

Thanks for the chance to log.

Edit: Copy + Pasted from the Product Review Section -

I've had the fortune to log Controlled Labs' White Blood 2 for the last five or so weeks, and I should also note that it's my first log I've ran here on bodybuilding.com. I have enjoyed every bit of it, and as Controlled Labs has given me an opportunity to try their product, I owe them a clear, detailed, and unbiased review based on my experience. I have a lot to say, and I hope someone finds it useful when deciding whether or not to buy this product.

I have kept up to date on several of the other logs, and it seems there has been somewhat of a steep learning curve with the dosage. Some started off with one tablet instead of the standard dosage of three, and others played around with the carbohydrate levels at time of intake quite a bit. I found my best success with close to what the bottle prescribed: 3 tablets with 40-60g carbohydrates. I played around with the dosage over the last few weeks, from 2 tablets to 4 one day, with anywhere from 0g carbs to 110g carbs, and from my experience 3 tablets was perfect, four gave an insane pump but I feel 3 is enough and worthwhile, and I did not reap any extra benefits from more than 60g carbs. 30g carbs gave me slight nausea that went away when I started lifting; all of these stats and dosages are for a 215-220 lb. male with 10-11% bodyfat.

Do not take this product without any carbs.
That said, it does not matter what kind of carbs they are, from my experience: I have tried pure liquid carbs in the form of milk and orange juice/other juices, or with just a bagel. It worked equally well both times.

White Blood 2 delivered to a various extent on multiple different levels.

Pump: 9/10 Pumps from White Blood 2 are absolutely disgusting, and truthfully far surpassed Jack3d and NoXplode, the two pre-workout supplements I've taken previously. I should note that my workouts are more of a powerlifting style, without drop sets, super sets, or even reps above 8-10 outside of some random assistance work; I train lifts and not bodyparts most of the time. This did not stop me from getting ridiculous pumps, although it was most noticeable in some muscle groups versus others. The biceps, back (traps/lower traps/lats/all of it haha), and shoulders were the most noticeable. More often than not these pumps lasted into the next day. I'm sure that if I had chased after a nasty leg pump, I would've gotten it with this product, but I didn't, so I'll never know until I get another tub of my own.

Endurance: 10/10 The highlight of the product for me, hands down. My workouts typically last an hour to an hour 15 minutes, and I'll be the first to admit that I usually start running out of gas, mentally and physically after 15 sets of squats or whatever else I may be doing for the day. I never once had a problem getting my workout done with White Blood 2, and I was able to commit to the next set 100%. Furthermore, just muscularly I may sometimes see drop-offs on reps after the first set or two, and WB2 kept that high. My later sets on explosive squats felt just as fast and strong as the first couple, and my shoulder pressing saw definite improvements in the later sets as well. I'd buy it just for this.

Recovery: 8/10 It's hard to say how I'd do without this product, but I can say I changed up my training from 3 days a week/occasionally 4 days a week to 2 days on, one day off at almost exactly the same time I started this product, and saw no problems. My lifts have all gone up substantially, and I've hit a new PR each session on all my big lifts over 90% of the time. I can't ask for more; it's just hard to compare it, without taking some time off while training at the same frequency. I'm very pleased, though.

Overall Thoughts/Notes: 9/10 This product delivers, especially on the pump and recovery. However, the most significant factor I will recommend this product on, and the main one I have recommended it on already is the size of the bottle. My bottle contained 90 tablets, with a standard (and full) dosing of 3 tablets per workout session. Every other supplement I have ever purchased has claimed to supply enough for a month, but with a miniscule serving size that I often doubled up on in order to feel an effect. Whatever their bottles prescribed didn't have enough of the active ingredients to produce results, and I'd often run out within 2-3 weeks. White Blood 2 delivers at exactly the prescribed dosage, and for 30 workout sessions; that's over one month for anybody. It's more than a simple proprietary blend for corporate gain, and I was incredibly pleased with it. The one downside to the product is the absolutely mandatory carb dosage, which makes it suboptimal for anyone dieting. However, it states that up front and delivers on everything it promises, on top of being stim-free.

I used White Blood 2 for just over 5 weeks, and saw the following gains:

Bench Press: 265x3 paused to 290x3 paused, and 300x3 touch-and-go
    Squats: 315x3 pure A2G to 355x3 A2G
Deadlifts: 335x3 to 355x4 (this was my fault on some programming, but still some good PR's!)
    Close-Grip Bench Press: 215x8 to 240x7
    Seated Overhead Press: 145 x 8 to 165 to 8

I couldn't be happier with my progress. Bodyweight has gone from 209.2 to 218, and I feel bigger and have been getting comments to the same effect, and I can't see much of a difference in bodyfat, either.

Again, to reiterate, this was a product that delivers on all of its promises, particularly the pump and endurance, with a downside in the required carb intake. Do not attempt to take this product without carbs. However, for anyone for whom that isn't a problem, this is a potent pre-workout that comes in a large package at good value.

Thanks again to Controlled Labs for the opportunity, it's been a great first log and I truly enjoyed doing it. This is a good product and I swear I'm not just saying that; it delivers more than Jack3d and NoXplode ever had, and it comes in bigger portions. What's not to like?
