i usually take it slower since i don't have my place plus i want them to stick around, so i build interest using bowling/mini golfing etc..but chit doesn't work if they originally feel comfortable meeting for drinks

Ahh gotcha...I had been dating a miscer for the past few months so I wasn't sure if that's what you were referring to. Ironically met him through the POF thread lulz.

Being a female on POF/OKC...sigh. I'm no 10/10 but I will still get a fair amount of messages every day. When I first signed up for POF I think it was something like 45 messages in the first 12 hours, a few guys hit me with homemade pasta and the rest were "omg ur beutiful" or "hey sexy" or other lame **** like that. Roughly 1/15 messages WASN'T something completely lame and/or a message that would actually spark a conversation.

OKC seems to be a bit classier, better matching IMO since you can answer all of those questions regarding your beliefs/habits/wants/interests, so at least a fair amount of the guys messaging me were doing so because they were interested in my personality and didn't just message me because of my avi.

Even still I got a ton of stupid, boring messages on there too. My advice is to just keep it short and witty, you seem to have a pretty good head on your shoulders and come off as pretty educated so I can't imagine you'd have too much of a challenge talking to girls or making a decent profile.

The problem with your advice (which in reality, and/or real life it would work well) but over on dating sites its simply Hit or Miss. What works well for you/gets your attention, will vastly differ from what will get the attention of another girl. I could send a cute message to a girl, and a witty message to another, and they would both ignore me. But if I was lucky enough and sent the witty message to the other one, and vice versa, I might've gotten 2 replies.
