Can anyone point me in the right direction of a journal posted on egg consumption and the effects on cholesterol levels? I remember someone posting a journal article and I'd like to find it again! Thanks for the help!

Thanks Pug that's the exact one I was looking for
I don't either but my aunt was asking me about eggs & the effects of cholesterol.. She's staying at our house right now because my other aunt is about to lose her life to cancer, and she noticed how many eggs I ate today. I told her I had read a few articles & that I would pass the info on.
We won't even talk about what she thought about my bacon consumption

I'm sorry to hear this...I hope she's as confortable as possible.
If you want to shock her (in a good way), show her: http://www.ajcn.org/content/80/5/1102.full

Yeah, I eat a lot of eggs on a weekly basis. I have switched to half egg whites/half whole egg ratio...not because of cholesterol concerns, just to cut back on fat intake a little. I get a physical every year and my blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. always comes back lookin great.
Not an article to eggs but there was a professor who did a junk food diet while keeping his caloric intake low enough to lose weight throughout the process....his blood work at the end came back looking a lot better than it did before he started the diet. Said there would need to be more studies done but that it did indicate that our weight levels have a lot more to do with cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. than what it is we're eating. In other words a crappy diet wont affect someone as bad if they're keeping themselves in the healthy weight/activity level range. You can probably find it by googling "twinkie diet".

Thanks! I find 2,400 going A LOT further this way..
I'm just tinkering around with it right now. With my aunt being I'll, we have been getting a lot of food so I've been testing the waters.
I'll tell you one thing, I used to think carbs made me happy, but after doing this the past 2 days, I'll take high fat any day! I was always on the higher end anyway with about 120-125g of fat anyway

The better the quality of the egg, the lower the cholesterol and higher the omega-3's. Vegetarian-fed/free range eggs usually advertise this in the carton. It makes sense. Garbage in, garbage out. Chickens that eat crap and live in squalor produce crap eggs. THe same goes for meat; grass fed beefs is more nutritious than corn-fed stock. I usually try to watch for when the organic eggs go on sale and then stock up since they stay well for about a month.

Korean grocer next to my joint sells bacon that's about a half inch thick. I'm not sure it qualifies as "bacon" at that point. BacoSteak.
