while i wouldn't get a dbz tattoo. As an artist or someone who loves art can't someone technically get a tattoo of whatever they want if it has meaning to them.

Anyone can get whatever they want. Hell if he wants he can get a dick with wings tattooed on his forehead. He might as well have, because there was no real thought about the distant future attached to the thought process of getting it. I make sure all of my clients think about the big picture, I make them think about it may be what you like now, but what about 20 years from now, will it still be as cool. If it is a young kid, I set an appointment for them a few months out so they have time to really think it over. If it is a collector who has several pieces, I generally dont question them because they know what to expect and know the consequences of a poorly thought out tattoo.

A dick on my forehead is a whole different kettle of fish to a tattoo of a character on my arm. If I wear a shirt no one can see my tattoo, I look like a tattooless guy. The only thing "wrong" with my tattoo is the stigma attached to DBZ, in reality it's no different to getting a Zombie or a Dragon or some Tribal. I have wanted full sleeves since I was 16, if in the future I regret my decision the regret will be the same if it's a DBZ sleeve or any other sleeve.

I was only semi srs about the Dad comparison his opinion is set in stone, it he doesn't like something ain't nothing changing it. He hates tattoos because his Father had tattoos and regretted them (They sounded fairly generic), maybe if I had met him I'd have a different view on tattoos.

I just figured once you reach a certain age you don't "grow out" of liking stuff, I can see how it looks from the outside though.

And in defence of the Tattooist who did it, when people want tattoos on their arm he makes them wear a fake sleeve thing for a few weeks to try it and make sure, since I already had arm tattoos he didn't make me.

Oh yeah I don't know if I said this anywhere, I have two ~4 inch long scars on both sides of my left arm, they are worse than any tattoo ever will be.

thank you for your answer to me Setva. ill be honest the first thing i thought of when i saw your tats is that its short sighted. but upon thinking about it further i realised how much that show meant to me. it really inspired me to get into the arts, and evan though i fell out of drawing in highschool creativity and art has always been a big part of my life, it may not have been if it werent for DBZ. SOOOO what im trying to say is, to all the hecklers, let it die. he did it, he felt he understands the possible consequences.

Usually you pay as you go. depending on what you are getting, sleeves can take multiple sessions. In Oz anywhere between $110-$300 an hour. The better the artist the higher the price.
