As title says, I dont know the first thing about bikes, but I need a new one. It would mainly be for commuting to places and I guess some recreational riding and Im not looking to spend too much money. Any good reccomendations?

Craigslist would be your best bet. Used road bike.
Something affordable like this.

*FLA...
"What if I fail to keep insurance on my vehicle that I have registered in Florida?"
The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is authorized to suspend your driving privilege, including your vehicle license plate and registration, for up to three years or until proof of Florida insurance is provided, whichever is first.
If my driving privilege is suspended because I am not properly insured, is there a penalty to reinstate my license?
"Yes. A reinstatement fee of $150 up to $500, for subsequent violations, must be paid and you must provide proof of current Florida insurance."

I'm just sayin, I only pay for insurance once a year when I need to update my tag to get that stupid little sticker. And I've never gotten a suspension for not having insurance, and suspension removal for me has been 60$ not 150 at any rate.
then again I am beautiful. dat dere beauty priveleges

In PA you're not allowed to drive away if they see you don't have insurance.

I hear you brother, handsomeness is handsome..
yea, I think you can go to jail here actually..
I have insurance and still paid $4000 for some minor heart surgery... Too bad your not an illegal alien, they pretty much get free health care here in Az, come up all the time to have babies, receive citizenship for their babies and then leave while the insurance payers absorb the cost. I had a employee who's Uncle who came here towards the end of his life for a bypass, total bill was about 250k and he didnt pay a dime, it just went against the system, that's why Tucson has 1 trauma center and a million people, they're mostly bankrupt from the influx of illegals...When you're down by the sea and an eel bites your knee, thats a moray.

Check out profile designs fast forward seatpost to change up your aero geometry a little bit. It puts you further over the handlebars and opens your hips up. I throw aero bars and the FF seatpost on my road bike when doing triathlon or TT training. Someday I might build up a TT bike with proper seat tube angle.

i know what you're saying man, i still have room to place my hand and ass further forward, though it feel my tear drops burn up quickly in that position
i'm leaving the TT bars on there, its more efficient and comfortable than the drops for me, i only use the drops for sprinting and some times hill climbing now
