First post, here goes!
I’m a keen cyclist who wants to get into bodybuilding, but I don’t want to give up riding my bike.
Clearly this poses a problem in terms of the necessary calorie surplus for gains. My question is: if I got my nutrition right and ate enough to offset the calorie deficit caused by my cardio, could I realistically make gains from lifting?
If relevant, I’m 29, 76kg, 6’1 and according to my scales 19% BF (though suspect less).

Cardio and gains - can you have both?

While my cardio was nothing extreme i ran 2 miles pretty much everyday( very rarely had a rest day) directly after lifting and continued to make gains just as fast as i did before i ever did cardio, i also trained full body every single day which a lot of people said was too much and i still continued to make gains without any problem. If anything i found increasing my cardio from running helped with recovery, i would recover faster between sets etc.

Absolutely, as you say just make sure you eat back what you burn to ensure you are in a slight surplus
Regarding recovery, play it by ear and see how you do. You may need to plan or juggle the two around a bit to make sure you get adequate recovery for leg day but many people make this workSomehow still managing to avoid getting 'too big'
