Given you had a high protein/carb diet. How would this compare to eating 500 above?

I think you'd be gaining weight at too much of a fast rate bro. The extra calories you're taking in will simply go as fat, you can't force your body to get more muscle.

You're missing the point Morty. Why would he drive a smaller toaster with wheels? I mean, does your car look like a smaller version of your house? No, exactly.

The result would differ greatly from person to person.
I am currently eating over 1000 calories above my maintenance, simply because I have to, to put on weight.
The funny thing is, I've been using this diet for a few months now and my bodyfat level has remained exactly the same even though I've put on weight.
I think it also depends on the quality of what you eat, I try to eat as clean as possible.

im sorry but this is wrong, protein itself is not stored as fat, excess protein that the body does not need is converted into a poison then converted into a milder poison and then removed from the body, excess CALORIES that your body does not need gets converted into fat not protein
this is the exact kina stuff im studying in my degree and it really frustrates me when i see bollocks like this thrown around
also the whole theres only so much protein your body can absorb in one time, theres strong evidence to back both points of argument up so at this point anyone could be rightThey said you were done!
they said you had no chance!
will you sacrifice to win?

No doubt you have an excellent explanation as to why people on an Intermittent Fasting diet do not, in fact, suffer from protein deficiency, seeing as they consume nearly all their dietary protein within a 4 hour window and why there was no difference in muscle protein and lean mass compared to a conventional diet?
Or to why people who consumed 79% of their dietary protein in one meal, as opposed to 4 meals saw no difference in fat free mass?

What.

The majority of people who think they are eating 1000 calories over maintenance and are gaining 1lb a week are actually only consuming roughly 500 calories.
However there are some individuals who will truly eat 1000 calories over maintenance and still gain the same amount of weight. This is because there BMR increases therefore the body uses more energy in biochemical reactions and generates more heat in order to deal with the excess energy input instead of it being stored as BF.
