Finished the last cigarette in my pack just a few minutes ago, thought to my self I might give quitting a shot since I'm starting a course early next year so that I can become a Personal Trainer.
Anyone a previous smoker? I'm only 17 turning 18 but I've been smoking half a packet since the age of 15 years old so it won't exactly be easy for me to quit but I want to give it a shot, just wondering if any previous smokers have advice on how to quit, I've made smoking a bad habit and routine.
Everyday that I wake up I go for a smoke, everytime that I finish a meal I go for a smoke, everytime I get into an argument with my parents or girlfriend I have a smoke so everytime one of these things happen throughout the day I'm going to be craving it which I think is going to be the hardest part.

Well it's a bit to late for that, I completely agree that smoking is gross, expensive and smells but I was dumb enough at 15 to get caught up in it all, everyone was smoking and graffiting, it was just the thing to do at the time at School and I fell into that peer pressure and I feel like a douche for it now.
I'm trying to change now and yeah the patches work but are more expensive than even cigarettes and also damage your body bar the lungs from the nicotine, I'm going to try cold turkey.

Easy
Hey man, I'm 17 as well, and I know its hard. I've been smoking since I was 14, and I've gotten up to a pack and a half a day. There is honestly no secret to quit, its will power, and since you only smoke a half of a pack a day, I recommend just cold turkey quitting. The first week is the hardest, trust me. after the 2nd week, you will feel great, you will be able to taste food again, lmao. Ive been tobacco clean for 4, going on 5 months, from cold turkey quitting. All it takes it a little will power man, you got it.

Thanks for the inspiration CraZdOOd and LITTLE FINGER, I like your attitude haha, hopefully I'll be saying the same thing to other people once I've curved the cravings and quit.
And I agree that cold turkey is the best, because it's hard but so is anything else in life that you're trying to get over or achieve, my willpower and dedication can only benefit in the long run if I can quit and prove to my self that I can do it which will help with other aspects like weights training.

Yes you can... Thats the way I quitted... You got to see it as a will power challenge...
I tried quitting many times and failed, but when I started seeing it as a will power challenge, I just couldnt let that little piece of paper with tobaco defeat me... I havent smoked in almost 2 years since then
