I'm seperating... my leave starts tomorrow. I shipped all my uniforms except one pair of ABUs because i was told, by MPF (last stop, where you final out) that i needed to be in ABUs when i final out (Wednesday) even though i'm already on leave then.
So, i'm finishing up all my outprocessing without any real problems (except for the usual horrible personnel people who are worthless) until it's time for me to out process with my first shirt. He's not there so the assistant first sergeant will do. Conversation is as follows:
Me: MSgt Female, i'm here to outprocess.
Her: SrA Saucen, why are you not in blues?
Me: My TMO came on friday. I don't have a lot of bag space and won't get my other stuff until August sometime so i only held onto the uniform i needed to final out in.
Her: Well, what about next Monday and all the Mondays until you get your stuff? (At this point she already seems annoyed)
Me: MSgt Female, I'm seperating. My leave starts tomorrow. I held onto one uniform for my final out even though my leave starts tomorrow.
Her: Well, i'm going to ask the Chief (first shirt is an e-9), you might be buying more blues so you can be in the correct uniform today.
Me: That's not gonna happen...
She then starts yelling for around 5 minutes about me backtalking and all this other jazz while i explain to her that i'm not going to waste bag space on an entire blues uniform that i'm only going to wear once then not wear ever again. She finally understands my point but continues to yell about my backtalking. She then (and i guess this was my punishment) tells me to leave and says she won't outprocess me until tomorrow (which isn't a big deal).
Inb4coolstory bro.
Cliffs: I didn't wear blues today because i shipped them already.
MSgt thinks i should buy blues to wear once (today) even though i start terminal leave tomorrow.
I say no.
She rages.

While I don't see why you would keep your ABU instead of Blues if you're going on terminal tomorrow, I wouldn't make you buy blues just for Monday. Why on Earth would that make sense? It would probably take up a good portion of the day just to find all of the stuff. However, bad on you for not being in the correct UOD...

I'm just a SSgt, so imagine if I were to talk to one of those E-4s and say "Amn XYZ, you know that it is not very professional to address officer XYZ in that manner right?"
Once the uniform is off, whatever, but while at work, I don't let that shiit fly, especially in my work center, I make the effort to address my friends that outrank me as "Sgt XYZ", and all of my subordinates as "Amn XYZ", hell even same rank co-workers as "Sgt XYZ", we are after all in the military, and wearing a uniform ffs lol.*cVc* -USAF-

I agree with this. Some officers expect NCOs or someone lower than them to correct the mistake.
It's like when I was deployed recently the only officers we saluted on base were GOs. When someone missed a salute with a general it wasn't that person that yelled at you it was usually a Capt or lower.
I'm not saying it's above an O-5 to correct an Airman, I'm saying that they shouldn't have to.3D072 - Cyber Systems Operations

So I dealt with my first technicality nazi today. A girl I graduated high school with is a 2nd Lt. in the AF now...me being all excited about getting into DEP I posted that on her wall and saying how I ship out for BMT sometime in the fall.
Her response:
"DEP? Not really sure what that means. Are you enlisting? Oh and btw... The AF doesn't "ship out" lol. It's ok... You'll be an AF pro soon congrats!"
