Yay! Got picked to test ON's new HydroWhey protein, and I chose the Turbo Chocolate flavor. Haven't had a chocolate flavored protein in a while, been sticking to everything Strawberry lately But my reference chocolate protein is usually Muscle Milk Chocolate, at least as far as flavor and digestibility goes.

Let's look at the supplement facts:



Nice. 30g of protein per serving, that's what I'm talking about! Stoked to try this.
I'll post for every few servings of it I take, mostly talk about taste, mixability, digestibility, and I'll definitely comment if I feel like I'm recovering faster with this protein.

Aight, well, I've been sick for the longest time and wasn't able to work out, I'm finally off antibiotics, feeling A LOT better, and am slowly starting to work out again. So I'll be going slow & easy at first, but hell, it's a protein powder review, what matters most is taste anyway

Also, readers should remember this for my log for any other supplement log out there, any claim I make about possible improved recovery or increased performance from using HydroWhey (or any other product) is purely and highly subjective as I'm not running a scientific study here. A lot of factors can come into play, likely things like placebo or other psychological effects which are unaccounted for.

Anyway, with that said, the idea & effort behind ON HydroWhey is incredible and I'm sure it will yield great results!

So, had my first official HydroWhey TurboChocolate shake this morning after my 60 minute run. I had two loaded scoops, 60grams of protein, mixed in water. So far, I absolutely LOVE IT.

Mixability & Texture: EASY EASY EASY. Don't even need a shaker, a glass and a spoon is enough, this stuff dissolves in water just by staring at it! It goes completely smooth very quickly, not much shaking/stirring needed, and by smooth I mean SMOOTH, like you're drinking a chocolate milk. No lumps, barely any floating residue, no sticky leftover powder on the walls of the shaker. Grade: 10 / 10

Taste: Remember, this is the Turbo Chocolate flavor. Taste is INCREDIBLE. I haven't had a chocolate shake in a while, but damn I've also never had such a good chocolate shake before. You'd expect weak flavor in water, but 2 scoops in about 500ml of water taste AWESOME. Very chocolaty, none of the 'chemical' aftertaste some people have reported. Addictive flavor, makes me wanna have another shake right away, which is a good thing I guess since I'm more inclined to binge on a HydroWhey shake than on a Snickers... better macros I've been comparing every protein shake flavor so far to Muscle Milk, which in my opinion has the best flavor in the industry. Muscle Milk Chocolate is delicious, no wonder though, given the fat content which helps with taste. Well, ON HydroWhey Turbo Chocolate tastes BETTER than Muscle Milk Chocolate, without the fats. I have a new reference chocolate-flavor shake Grade: 10 / 10

Digestion: Here, too, I used Muscle Milk as my baseline for digestibility. The best digesting protein so far, never gives me gas or the runs, but occasionally I get noises in my stomach from it. Oh, I should mention I'm lactose intolerant! Well, ON HydroWhey's digestion is my new baseline for digestibility! Absolutely SMOOTH, no gas, no runs, and most of all, an absolutely 'calm' stomach throughout the day, no rumbling and weird feelings, as if I hadn't eaten anything at all. Again, Grade: 10 / 10

Won't comment on recovery & performance until I've been using HydroWhey for a few weeks.
