Your parents have always told you to eat your fruit and vegetables when you were younger to grow up big and strong...
I'm wondering how true this statement really is. Obviously, meats are the essential source of nutrients. But what exactly do fruits and vegetables provide your body with in the process of building muscle?

Now that I have actually sat down and made a solid looking diet for myself, I added in some fruits and a ton of vegtables. In the morning I want to make a shake out of 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 tomato, 1 cup spinach, 1 cup parsley, and 2 large carrots. Also eating a can's worth of green beans, and a can of peas. Oh, and 1/4 cup raisins and 1 large banana in my breakfast oatmeal.
Fruits and vegtables are loaded with essential vitamins and minerals, alot of which I have no idea what they do, and overall just promote general health."Whether you think you can or can't, you're probably right." -Henry Ford

I know spinach in particular is high in foliac acid, which apparently has something to do with muscle health. Damn it, now I have to research it.

Spinach is pretty cheap too. I bought 7oz. for like $4 something. 7oz. is a good bit considering it's so damn light, about 5-7 cups worth. Parsely was 99cent for a "clump", maybe like 2 cup worth
It barely has any calories though, 7cal for 1 cup. Celery, something known for having barely any cals, is 16cal for 1 cup"Whether you think you can or can't, you're probably right." -Henry Ford

Walmart has a decent looking one for 50$, and a better looking one (which I won't be purchasing) for 90$. In the mornings I'm just going to throw in the apple, orange, carrots, tomato, spinach, parsely, juice the hell out of it, then dump the pulp into the glass and drink the juice+pulp. Then I'll eat a proper breakfast an hour later
