    No there isn't.

Not supporting the war is not supporting the mission. Not supporting the mission is not supporting the military.

Supporting the troops is supporting the military's mission, which is the war.

You can't have it both ways.

You can say that you don't agree with the war. But not agreeing with the war is not the same as not supporting it.

You're making it sound like we can't care about the soldiers out there, and their families, and their sacrifices, if we don't support the cause.

    You couldn't be more incorrect.

my cousin (RIP) who was a marine even told me that if I was to join any branch, to join the army because the army units were doing the same things he was and overall have better living conditions (talking about stateside living conditions)...

although the pics are made with a bias towards the marines, you guys are missing the point

if they said the army, airforce, navy, marines are at war, america is at the mall it loses its effectiveness because its a long list

its just meant to show that our armed forces are out fighting and dying for us and back home thers no recognition for them
    Support our Troops

How often do people donate to care packages or go to welcome home ceremonies to show support? There's a lot of things people could do but they don't because they'd rather be at the mall.
    I agree.

I ask civilians all the time

Do you support the troops? Yes or No? If Yes what do you do to support them?

    Write your elected officials?
Fly the U.S Flag outside your house
Tie a yellow ribbon around any tree in your yard?
    Bumper sticker on your car?
    Show up at local parades?

The answers I get sometimes disgust me

You can't have it both ways.

You can say that you don't agree with the war. But not agreeing with the war is not the same as not supporting it.

to me it seems like you're asking the question and hoping for the wrong answer, if someone asked me if i support the troops i'd say yes, and if the asked how, i'd be somewhat stumped.

i'd assume you were asking if i thought about them and what they go through, not do i actually support them with care packages and whatnot, the idea never entered my mind, i've never really heard of anyone doing this except the soldiers families, might have to give it a bash though. some beef jerky and haribos might be appreciated over there.

Be honest here, how often do you actually ask people this? Does it come up in general conversation all the time, or do you bring it up?

You can be a patriot all you like but to me it sounds like you are preaching your military beliefs to other people and looking down on them if they dont meet yours.

No I'm asking the questions in hopes of an answer first. Then I go from there.

I get a range of answers from "I don't know" to "I don't have the time" to "I don't care"

but when you ask the question, do you mean do they send packages, letters and whatnot, or do you just mean do you think about them and feel bad for the situation they're in?

if it was me over there, i'd be touched if i recieved a package from someone i didnt even know, but it'd be more important to me that people appreciate what im doing over.

support the troops just took on a new meaning to me lol.
