Do you honestly believe that if we pulled every troop out of Iraq that the terrorists would keep us from going to anchor blue? Maybe they dont receive support because most people think the war is a mistake.

There's a BIG difference between supporting the soldiers and supporting the war, and most Americans know that they can support the troops without agreeing with the cause.

i dont want most americans version of support. When i was over there some strangers sent me a barry manilow cd, tampons, and tootsie rolls. no support is better than barry manilow.

i love how everytime a marine says something about the war, its always the marines fighting and marines dying.

i guess all the other branches just sit on their asses? lol

marines have the same mission in iraq that the army does. i don't understand how people think that the marines are in any more danger or do anything more important than any of the other branches.

A Marine recruiter followed me into a Hot Topic at the mall in '07, and tried to get me to join. I told him no because I was already in college, and would possibly consider it when I graduate. He didn't want to take no for an answer, however, and told me how they'd pay for college (when I told him I already had it taken care of). One of the worst recruiters, I ever met (sorry to the Marines out there, that guy wasn't a good rep for you guys)

i've had plenty of people that have been in OIF/OEF tell me.

my cousin (RIP) who was a marine even told me that if I was to join any branch, to join the army because the army units were doing the same things he was and overall have better living conditions (talking about stateside living conditions)...

same here. half way into into deployment we get a grip of letters and care packages. when i opened them i got butterflies in my stomach . feels fukcn amazing man. some 17yo high school chick, or a 40 yo family man/ father of 4 , who you dont know writes a 5 page letter+candy and other goodies. awesome man , much appreciated

to me it seems like you're asking the question and hoping for the wrong answer, if someone asked me if i support the troops i'd say yes, and if the asked how, i'd be somewhat stumped.

i'd assume you were asking if i thought about them and what they go through, not do i actually support them with care packages and whatnot, the idea never entered my mind, i've never really heard of anyone doing this except the soldiers families, might have to give it a bash though. some beef jerky and haribos might be appreciated over there.

if it was me over there, i'd be touched if i recieved a package from someone i didnt even know, but it'd be more important to me that people appreciate what im doing over.
