EDIT: I added in xbw and Wilks. To get your wilks go to this site. http://tsampa.org/training/scripts/relative_strength/
Make sure you select total is in lbs, Uncheck everything but Wilks, leave the rest defalults, add in your name/weight/total and scroll down and click calculate.
To add to list copy and past the following(including all dots) and fill in your information:
name.......bw..........squat/bench/deadlift.....2055..........#.##xbw.......###.##... ...gear category

I figure the best way to get these things figured is to just get them started.
Apparently things don't format the way they say they do in the preview post function.
The idea for this thread came from many others but this post was the one where I tried to figure out a formatting. If anything we can let this one die and just use this as a testing zone if need be. I guess the OP can be edited by a mod in the future so that the results stay fresh on page one.
Ranking system could be done by wilks? I think that would be good and i think ranking by wilks will work out better because of 1.)ease and 2.) lack of enough people to really fill out rankings in weight classes and 3.)more fun to compete against everyone =)Consistency

One word of advise on this is DO NOT make this to complicated or serious. I would sugest against using anything like wilks. Just keep it basic by and rank it by bodyweight and xbw with in the bodyweight.
I got this idea from FI. Code_B. If you'd like I wouldn't mind keeping it up. Don't know how that works or if I'd need to start a new thread? Unless you want to keep up the first post.My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

Here are the basic's from the FI post...
This is our little online competition so everybody can see how everybody else is doing. You don't need proof of your lifts, and they don't have to be done in meets. No prizes will be given out, so please be honest.
I'm making a bunch of lists for the various lifts, totals, coefficients, etc. All you have to do is post your username, maxes, total, and bodyweight. My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

I like the basic idea of this, I think FI is a different kind of community though so I think making this a little more official with meet results or vids might suit this better.
I think wilks is better than BW CE for the rankings since its pretty simple with calculators.
I also think one of our mods periodically removing members etc if they stop posting for a long enough period of time will help keep it from just becoming way too large to manage. What that period of time is or what qualifies as someone not being a regular anymore who knows. Mods can probably use their powers to decide that and if they start posting again they can get right back up there so I don't see anything wrong with that.Consistency

I do think vids or meet numbers should be done on here as the e-stats are rampant on this board.
Wilks, just don't like the idea myself but what ever people want.
I say just keep people in it forever. Nothing to manage really once you're listed. Taking people off and back on would make a lot more management of the list.My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

Nope, they are completely independent of anything supplemental.
Here's the original FI thread.
http://www.fortified-iron.com/forum/...howtopic=26165
Only post you need to read is the first one. All the others are just people adding in their numbers. The only downfall of this is making sure someone is in charge and updating the list. OP of it has been backed up as of late and hasn't updated the list.My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

Funny that I didn't think about this before. Since this is the powerlifting forum and powerlifting is about lifting the most weight possible I think that numbers should be allowed to be posted from whatever gear the person competes in.
This is for fun and the way I see it, when I compete in the USPF and don't lift in gear I don't think to myself, well I coulda lifted as much as that guy if I wasn't lifting raw right now. I choose to compete in that federation but lift w/o gear because its what I'm interested in right now. So we either have to lay the foundation that its a "who can lift the most weight" thread or if no one wants to do that it could be restricted to raw.
Personally I'd rather have it be "lift w/ whatever gear you want" as long as it is in the spirit of the sport(vids for gym lifts/no cranes/reverse bands or forklifts). But then maybe have another column for gear type just like Benbriz did and have three classifications: no gear/single/multi and just have them not mean anything in the calculation.Consistency

I with not dividing it between equipped and unequipped. As you notice I'm about keeping it as simple as possibble making it easier to maintain. If you look at the orginal thread on FI it's been going on for about 4 years now. Truely should be something simple to maintain and just fun to be a part of.
Adding in to many rules and sections to it will make it harder for someone to want to maintain it long term. Which it would be nice to having something like this last as long as the FI one has.My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

Yes, I'm replying to myself.....
Well, thinking about it a lot of people here ask about what do you lift with or with out this or that type of equipment or unequipped. I'm still with keeping it uncategorized but put in a column for if the lift was using what type of equipment.
IE:
RANK____LIFTER________BW____SQUAT/BENCH/DEADLIFT/TOTAL______BW MULTIPLE/WILKS____Eqp.(unequipped/single/multi)
#1 ....... Jason2459........217.........485sq/309bp/485dl....1279...........5.89XBW..............unequ ippedLast edited by Jason2459; 12-30-2008 at 07:28 PM.

I hear what your saying on the simplicity. I think that if you wanted less things up there I'd rather drop off bw multiple and just add in what type of gear you did it in just cuz its a piece of info Id like to know when I look at it. That is something that I would ask people if I didn't know but bw you can just do in a google calculator or in your brain
*edit* also the simplicity could be in the formatting. in the 2nd post or at the bottom you just lay out the format that you have to write your entry in and then all the mod has to do is copy and paste it into position and then update the ranking #'s in the first column. The format would obviously include how many periods to include between entries or maybe just a template to copy and paste and then fill out. Then depending on the length of the persons name either delete a certain number of spacers or just leave that for the mod to do if necessary.Last edited by Code_B; 12-30-2008 at 07:32 PM.

The more things we add, obv the more complicated it gets, but I think there are certain things that need to be on it, like geared/raw, wilkes, etc. I just don't know.
There are a lot of good ideas out there at the moment. If GrayHorse could find us a template that'd be great.BRB' Projectile Vomitin'
