    How many carbs POST-workout while cutting?

    I'm cutting up and I was curious as to how much carbs I should be consuming after my workout. I normally have 30 grams from gatorade for the dextrose, should I be getting more? also, any recomendations for better post workout carb sources?? also, if it matters, I'm around 170 pounds.

    Just eat real foods for your carbs PWO. It's pointless to take empty sugar like dextrose or gatorade or whatever people use. Just get your carbs from fruits, oats, milks, or other natural food sources.

    My typical PWO drink is:

    2 scoops ON Whey
    1 medium banana
    1/2 cup oats
    1/2 cup strawberries
    1/2 cup mixed berries
    8 ounces of milk

    Comes out to around 600 calories, ~55-60 grams of protein, ~70-80 grams of carbs and about 5-7 grams of fat.

    Some people might think is too many calories for a cutting PWO shake but it has worked great for me so far so I stick with it.

    better carb sources: pretty much anything except dextrose. pasta, rice, oats, potatoes... all are much better. carb requirements vary depending on your workout. for muscle glycogen replenishment, its about 5 grams/2 sets.

    "Just Say ?NO? to the Post Workout Insulin Spike
    Our opinion may upset people but here it is. We do not
    recommend a postworkout (PWO) shake when the activity is for
    physique purposes. We would rather provide aminos (Branch
    Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) during the workout to help reduce
    muscle tissue catabolism and provide energy. If you do not have
    BCAAs during your workout/cardio training, then we recommend a WPI shake (protein only with no carbohydrates) PWO to get
    the body into an anabolic state. When you hop off that cardio
    machine postworkout, get home and eat your next meal around
    30-45 minutes following your training session.

    I am not in any sports so it's working great for me. I stared at 274lbs on the cutdiet and now I am down to 251lbs.
