Ok i am bulking at the moment, so obviously atempting to get some serious calroies down me. Unfortuantely due to being at university i do not have time to always cook rice or the like to provide a good card source. It is much easier just to make a sandwich; tuna etc. I was just wondering whether bread is a substitue or whether it is simply best to just avoid it and find some way of getting other carbs/calories. Any help would be appreciated.

Rice is easy and quick to do, can even be done in a microwave! If I'm cooking eggs for breakfast I tend to put 200-300g of rice on at the same time as from turning the hob on until finish takes less than 10mins. Then I just wack it in a sealed container in the fridge for the day and eat it when I can.
As for the question you actually asked, I tend to stick to brown bread as it's better for you and I consume quite a bit too, probably a loafs to myself every week."There's no bench press round in the Olympia. The judges don't care how much you bench, they only care what you look like. Leave your ego at the door."
"Be thankful that you have a life, and forsake your vain and presumptuous desire for a second one."

I've seen bodybuilders incorporate bread as part of their "diets", and appearance wise, they look as if they're doing fine. Stick with whole grain (wheat) bread; I, myself eat two pieces of Arnold's "Bakery Light" brand toasted (I'm not trying to gain weight, so this may be a different scenario for you) and I'd choose it over white bread on any given day.
