    Exclamation Lateral Meniscus Tear Questions

Hey guys, quick question for those who are more educated than me. I have a torn lateral meniscus in my left knee and have had it for approximately four years with actual debilitating symptoms (the "locking" of the knee, swelling, ect.) only occuring during football season and an unfortunate experience with simply getting up from the couch. I'm getting surgery on it in the upcomming months, but I had a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer.

    1) Because of the prolonged untreatment of my injury, should I be worrying about arthritis/osteoarthritis?
-While running, is the aching I feel in my knee an early symptom of worn down ligament?

    2) Will I ever be able to safely squat 500 lbs plus, or should I kiss my dreams of powerful legs goodbye?

    3) Will I be able to play college football again, or should I also kiss that dream goodbye as well?

Thanks so much to anyone who responds
