    ^

just curious, i know eating and sleeping is a bad idea but how long do you have to wait before you go to sleep after a meal?

it's not bad dude, but you'd want to limit (notice I said limit, not eliminate) your carbs before bed. It is reccomended to eat sometihng with caesin in it (cottage cheese is preferable) and some sort of fat - this'll give you a steady stream of protein into your blood for a few hours while you sleep (though research now doesn't seem to be supporting this much).

Ill assume you think eating before bed will make you fat? Thats true to an extent - you gotta remember that weight is determined by calories and body composition (bodyfat and muscle levels) is determined by your macro's so if both of these are in check then you won't be putting on much fat at all.

Well it depends if you want to gain weight or not. I try to get over 1000 calories right before I go to bed. The best time to eat to get fat!

Cottage cheese has a slow releasing protien, so your body will be feeding off this while you sleep and it will keep your muscles from shrinking. I think a lot of guys go anal over little things though and think every little thing they do will cause their body to get smaller.

Before bed I have grilled chicken, and then a big spoon of peanut butter. The peanut butter helps because of the fats in it that make it digest slower or something (haha I was told this by a guy on the nutrician board when asking help for my diet). I believe it works fine though. I haven't noticed any muscles shrinking..

I have cottage cheese and milk (both slow digesting casein protein - milk to a lesser extent), and 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter (slow digesting healthy fat) to prevent my body from going into a catabolic state where muscle is metabolized by cortisol (i think) for energy.

Usually my dinner around 8:30 or so plus or minus a few minutes. Usually piece of 10oz of steak or chicken, then a cup of rice or potatoes, and then some vege's.

Wouldn't it be better to take in protein/amino acids before bed like Casein and not calories. Because calories = kilojoules = energy, thus technically you wouldn't get a great nights sleep.

I eat 30min before bed. Typically a 50gram Isopure protein shake, about 3grams of carbs. That with my last dose of Nitrix and Cellmass.

Do eat something though...your body will thank you.

eating and then sleeping is a great idea. as long as the meal is a moderate protein/fat meal, youll be fine. My last meal is just before i go to bed.
