In, fukkin Italians, was kinda hoping for an upset.
Also why did the Italians not put forward a younger squad and get them big tournament experience? They have no shot at winning, may as well prepare their younger players for dat der world cup 2014.Fitness Journal:

Germany vs Italy always a classic in the knock out rounds (1970 and 2006 SF's and 1982 final).
Can Germany beat Ita for the first time in a competitive match?
Oh and Andrea Panenka Pirlo

People have been saying the italian side needs to get "younger" for years. It bit them in the ass in the WC10, but looks pretty good thus far in th EC12. If the coach called up all young players and failed he would've been crucified in Italy for not having any experienced players...Kind of a catch 22.
Also I wouldn't write off Italy vs Germany just yet, they played Spain real hard and both those teams are very offensive minded. Though I think Italy will probably lose, I could deffo see them taking a early lead and just frustrating the sheet out of the Spanish team. Italian side is so well disciplined Nd tactically sound, just a well coached team, aside from trollatelli Ofcourse.YNWA

What do you guys think of the comparison between Pirlo and Xavi?
I think Pirlo is superior when it comes to long range passes, set pieces and shots from outside the box.
Xavi has dem sexy grounded passes, much greater work rate and you'll also see him finish much more often inside the box.

Yes, but even the short sighted Europeans (no hate, they have absurdly high and unrealistic expectations in regards to their coaches.. brb firing a new coach 7 months after he was hired) must be able to look down the road and see that their current roster will be entirely new for the next world cup. And none of those younger players are getting very much playing time.
Portugal can play the spoiler, but the two best teams entering this tournament were Germany and Spain (Netherlands were near the top too, but DAMN what a disappointment).
Likely Germany Spain for the final, also Italy has a little less than two days to recover before facing Germany, they're going to be tired. They also have to travel to Warsaw, so that can take some out of them as well.Fitness Journal:

Was pulling for England, but when Pirlo made that penalty I just clapped and said you beautiful cheeky kunt you.
Two amazing semi finals set for wed/thurs, though it kind of sucks how Germany get a full two days extra rest.MUFC | Buccaneers | Tomahawk Nation

Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

Xavi >everyone, incl. Pirlo, which does not mean he is no quality. It's that Pirlo is a great midfielder, but Xavi has set the definitions, or there is another reason why everybody, who appears to be good/better/great midfielder is compared to him, not someone else?

I think Germany will go through, but Italy will give them a tough match. Portugal - Spain should be much more even, although if Spain get an early goal then I think Portugal will be screwed. Also depends on how Portugal approaches the game (hopefully not like France, they played like pussies), and who starts (lol Postiga).
