In. Subbed. 1rd. 5 star thread.
Look! A workout!
8/3/2012 - Squats/Deads
General Warm-up - BB complex w/ bar & 5 min of dynamic & selective static stretching
Squat
warm-ups: 45x5, 135x5, 225x5, 315x3
365x8
365x8
315x10
These sucked a lot. Gonna work in the 6-10 range on volume day for a couple weeks
Semi-sumo Deadlift
warm-ups: 225x3, 315x2, 405x1, 455x1
495x1
525x1
Fast and easy up until 525. 525 was mad slow off the ground but I had more in me.
SLDL (conventional stance)
warm-ups: 315x3
385x3
405x5
Explosive Pull-ups (somewhere between strict and crossfit kipping)
BWx20
BWx20
Suitcase BB Holds (each arm)
135x a few seconds
185x a few seconds
225x a few seconds
225x a few seconds
225 sets were with hook grip. Couldn't find the sweet spot on the bar so it kept tilting.Planted like a tree beside the river of truth.

I had dinner at Kopps on Friday night. Kopps has frozen custard and I think that is a Wisconsin thing so I went there and got a humongous burger, fries, and frozen custard. lol.
Saturday I went to the Original Pancake House for breakfast and then to the mall, where I spent more than I should Went to a picnic, then took the train home. I didn't spend full days there so I suppose I couldn't do everything possible there.
How was your weekend?

Did you see that kid who did 385x1? He's aiming for a 405 lb OHS. It was posted somewhere in the PL forum. He didn't use a snatch grip, rather he went narrower than that. I find it very difficult to perform the movement with a narrow grip.

Inn on nu shack!
"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves…" - Dao de Ching
The biggest secret in life is not that we go through life discovering ourselves but that we go through life creating our selves. Think about that.
