About a month ago I did the stupidest thing. I did a workout where I only did deadlifts and I did 30 sets. I had short rest periods and it took me about an hour. I started with 275 and I didn't even notice that I was arching my back until I was almost finished (it's kinda hard to look directly to the right/left to see yourself in the mirror while lifting heavy weight).
Anyway, my lower back was sore for like a week (maybe a day or two more), so I strayed away from exercises that involve the lower back until I felt it was fully healed. I haven't done deadlifts since then, but when I do squats I get a slight pain in my lower back. My lower back doesn't bother me at all outside of the gym, except for when I sit in the same spot for a long time (like when I took the PSATs last week) and even then it doesn't hurt, it just feels uncomfortable (kinda how your legs would feel if you would stand for 3 hours).
I just took a week off from training and today was the first day doing squats since my week off, and it seems worse now! It even hurts when doing light weight. It doesn't really hurt while doing the exercise, but I can feel it when I rack the weight. Anyone ever get that pain in their forearms when doing curls and it hurts like hell when you let go of the bar? It's like that, just with milder pain.
Anyway, I finished my workout about 45 minutes ago and now my lower back is bothering me. It's not hurting, but it's just uncomfortable. I can move it in all different angles/directions and not feel any pain right now, but it just feels slightly uncomfortable.
Also, since I'm still growing, do you think this may affect my growth (in height)? Oh, I hope my growth isn't stunted.

Get it checked out. I am currently injured with a very similar pain in my lower back. Sitting is very uncomfortable. I haven't been able to workout for a month now
I am going today to a specialist because I have no idea what it could be. It hasn't gotten worse and it hasn't gotten better. It sucks. I can bend down, pick things up and so on with really no pain. But sitting for long periods is very uncomfortable.
I don't know if it's a disc problem, pinched nerve, muscle related, ligaments, etc. I just want to find out what I'm dealing with and you should to if it doesn't feel better on its own within 2 weeks. If it was a muscle pull you would start to notice improvement in a week or two. If not, don't take chances and get an MRI. That's my next step. It's been very frustrating to want to workout and not be able to.
Good luck and if you have concern, don't wait too long to get it checked out. Don't workout until you do. Chances are you'll do more harm than good by working out in pain."Franco is pretty smart, but Franco's a child, and when it comes to the day of the contest, I am his father. take a week or two off; if it's still bothering you, see a doctor
and this is why i think people who do a huge number of sets/reps on deadlifts are foolish (no offence )- it's a taxing movement and you than likely can't maintain proper form (Despite what you may like to think) all the way throughout it.Booo

That's what I was going to start doing once I found out what is going on with my back. I did do my chest routine a couple of time before and didn't have any problems since I was laying down for most of my exercises.
I've stopped all squatting and bent over row type exercises. Pullups don't bother me either.
Personally though, I would stop all lifting for a week and see if it feels better. I hate doing only part of my workouts at this point and just want to get it taken care of.
Good luck."Franco is pretty smart, but Franco's a child, and when it comes to the day of the contest, I am his father. He comes to me for advices. So it's not that hard for me to give him the wrong advices." - Arnold Schwarzenegger - Pumping Iron
