Well, for one, that's not a 'mob' tattoo.
For two, never brand yourself with negative connotations unless you're willing to deal with the stigma and potential reactions that may come along with it. i.e. Don't get a swastika tattoo and get arrested or you will be a nazi in the eyes of the law forever.MMMC - Bernie Madoff

That would still be WAY more than $1000.
Would be at least 2-3 grand depending on detail.
Look at Erocks tattoo it is just lined so far and he is $800 in, and he is going to be paying $800 per session and he still has a few sessions to go. What you are describing is way more work than his.
Pics please

Understandable, working on pics probably won't have any until tomorrow.
In the meantime, I got my work done by these guys (http://seppukutattoo.com/), what do you think of their work?

Well they need to update their site for 1. They are advertising Hell City Columbus 2010, and I was at that show.
I called them and asked how much a half back tattoo would cost. The guy who answered said without details on what I want that larger pieces are split up into 3 hour sessions and 3 hour sessions go between $6-$800.
I am not trying to call you out here, I am just saying that unless you have the best hook up in the world it cant be done. I have to do all of my wifes tattoos because if she goes to any of my artists she still has to pay 75% of what they would charge, And technically she is part owner due to being married to me.

I agree with you on custom shops. I've had 2 pieces done by a custom shop and in my opinion it was a better experience than a normal shop. This was my first custom piece done in the US. The other one was on my honeymoon last year, I got a polynesian tribal piece done in Bora Bora where everything was done by hand (machine) and no stencil.

I'm no artist or tattoo pro, but I'd think you could probably do a bit better. Some of her stuff looks good, but I don't know if it's THAT good.
edit# Misread your post the first time, thought you were traveling 500mi... still, for an hour away you could probably get better stuff. Just my $0.02.the crew that poop poop poops crews crew

Craig, I'm almost positive this hasn't been brought up on this page so I'll ask. How does shaving a tattoo effect it or if it even does?

As long as it is 100% healed it is the only way to show it off. When I am in public I shave mine when I want them to be seen.
It is better to have the hair waxed off though that way it doesnt grow back thicker like shaving does.
If we are entering a client into a competition that was not done day of show, we pay for them to get the tattoo waxed
