Be-dazzled "Teh Phillistine" shirt = 2nd only to.... http://www.seattlepi.com/dayart/2004...rls_tshirt.jpg
^^ Yes, this was actually super popular when I was in high school...
I use Phillistine to classify not THINGS, but rather, PEOPLE who:
- Lack culture
- Use "UNorganized" rather than "DISorganized"
- Think that the last BSB album was actually MORE than just elevator muzak.
- Like Gwenyth for reasons OTHER than her association with Blythe or Huey
p.s. i'm glad you use the word. now, if you start to adopt "uber", i may just send you a pm next time i go to buffalo...

1. In the non bedazzeled form...I've seen them here, recently in fact.
2. I'm glad we were able to come to an understanding on her who shall not be named.
3. Love the criteria for the usages of phillistine.
P.s.....you best have your pm skills ready......also in addition to using uber....I enjoy the word heinous.Last edited by sammykapp; 05-04-2009 at 10:00 AM.

2. Wurd. Thought so.
3. Liberatarian is good. The Jedi party is better (maybe that's only in Canada).

3. I think it is only in Canada....until we get a chapter though...I'm sticking Liberatarian.
4. NICE!
Songs that teach People how to Spell (one of my favorite things to promote literacy to the masses)
1. Fergalicious by Fergie Ferg
2. Glamorous by Fergie Ferg (what a wonderful public service individual she is)
3. Independent by Webbie
4. Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani

Hey hey sam-ster!
Workouts looking solid. How's the Monday going?
Oh and re: the Jedi Party, I don't know of another place that has Jedi as a political party, but I know Australia has officially adopted Jedi as a religon. What a trip.
....although if a lot of their 'knights' were as hot as Ewan, I could find it my heart to convert."If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut." - Albert Einstein

Hell's yes on the workout girl!!
I can agree with Jaime on loving F-E-R-G-I-E, yes I too am a fan. I can totally discuss music, however movies and old flicks are out of my league. If you want to talk baby show's that's definitely my area of expertise!!! (maybe some baby einstein, wiggles, the mole sisters), you get the idea.
Have an awesome day, what's in store for today's workout????

Jedi as a religion....that is quite a concept.
Thanks Rock! In regards to progress, I guess it takes one to know one because all I ever see in your workouts are PRs.
Plus she is also up in the gym working on her fitness. Her ability to role model is uncanny and so diversified. Public service through literacy, fitness, etc.... Knew you'd agree.
Despite the fact I don't have kids, at least not that I'm aware of....enough of my friends do have them so I actually know a little about Baby Einstein. I also have been around heated debates on Dr. Brown's BPA-free bottles and the positive aspects of the Quinny Zap Strollers with its accessories to feel I could have an informed discussion on either topic.
It's all HIIT today... Workout to be posted this evening....No excuses, just performance...

Top 5 best book --> Film adaptations:
1) The Outsiders (which is my favourite book of all time *tied with She's come undone*)
2) Animal Farm
3) Fight Club
4) The Princess Bride
5) Shopaholic Takes Manhattan
Best FUTURE book --> Film = She's Come Undone...it'll happen one day. I'd also like to see anything by Kurt Vonnegut get made into a movie (I'm calling Darren Aronofsky as we speak...)

Nice List! Comment on your list:
1) YES
2) Good pick
3) Love this one!!
4) Agree
5) Can't make the comparison because I haven't read it yet.
Mine:
1) The Outsiders
2) Fight Club
3) Schindler's List (if I'm allowed to go Biographical/Historical)
4) To Kill A Mockingbird
5) Much Ado about Nothing --the Kenneth Branagh version (courtesy of a college minor in English Lit)
Honorable Mention: the Kite Runner (if one can handle the graphic topics); Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) for sentimental reasons;
Ones that despite great acclaim and being notable aggrevate me to no end---Gone with the Wind. Did not do justice to the book at all even if I didn't like the ending in either, even if it was in Technicolor. Otherwise well-written, despite the fact the ending always makes me think "WTF....no way would that happen in the end.." I equivacate this to me just pulling up ship in NY and going back to run the family farm and digging in the dirt saying how I'm never going to live away from the farm ever again. Just not going to happen.
She's Come Undone would make a very good screen play. I liked I Know This Much Is True as well, but SCU would make a better movie. If they managed to pull something out of Running with Scissors and turn a decent book into a movie that didn't seem appealing to even see in my mind, then She's Come Undone should blow that out of the water.
Slaughterhouse-Five would be a phenomenal movie, and I would buy tickets on Fandago now if I could for its opening date.Last edited by sammykapp; 05-05-2009 at 09:32 AM.

Ooooh, slaughter-house 5 would be kick ass!!! You're so bang on!
* <-- Kurt Vonnegut trivia - What is that?
I also like "Waiting for Guffman" (loosely adapted, but it gets credit)
Just as you are disappointed with Gone with the Wind, I have NEVER liked anything adapted from the Bronte sisters books.Contest Prep Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=146273283&p=911273403&posted=1#post911273403

1. Wurd
2. It makes a nice tatoo doesn't it? Kinda goes along with your @ssh0leondaelbow terminology except this is a frame of reference at least, if it is on your elbow or in close proximity.... This conversation reminds me I had some adding to do to my book collection, but I should best wait till I move in a couple weeks so I don't have more stuff to move.
3. Waiting for Guffman...LOVE IT.
4. I often stay away from movie representations from classic literature for this reason...I had to be disappointed.Last edited by sammykapp; 05-05-2009 at 10:03 AM.

1. svector (related term svection): dividing something into portions along lines that make sense in my natual way of grouping things together
Use in sentance: i'm going to svector this pile of socks together in the drawer that is closest to my shoes because feet clothing articles should go together, and then i will group them by color because things should match..
2. Studify: the act of reading or learning to take on a scholarly appearance
Ex: I better go studify this article because I have to present it at journal club yo and I can't be unprepared or I'll get a beatdown.
3. Pornicate/pornication: a combination of 2 words, slightly redundant in nature, except that it is meant to describe episodes that may be noteworthy of mention or office gossip
Example: You really don't want to be hearing your next-door neighbor pornicating during your family's Thanksgiving dinner; or callroom/workplace nookie that gets interrupted or heard by co-workers: i.e. Dude, we totally heard you pornicating with your girl when you were in the callroom on your overnightLast edited by sammykapp; 05-05-2009 at 01:22 PM.

My brothers and I play 'Made Up Word Scrabble'. Its a lot more fun and in some ways, more challenging than regular scrabble.
Our rule is that as long as you have a definition for your word (and it kind of sounds like what that word would mean), then it counts and you get the points. I have sheets and sheets full of made up words (our old scorecards) somewhere.
I'll share a few - when I find them....."If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut." - Albert Einstein
