Good advice Omega but I prefer greasing the grove with my techniques. Do as much with one exercise until it becomes easy and change it to make more difficult.
Question though. Is there an alternative to hand stand push ups? I'm scared that I'm going to bust my head open. In addition to my fear, I get dizzy being upside down.

My advice, is try the Pike Press. It is a good beginner exercise for those wanting to HSPU. Also, when you try a HSPU, when your feet come down, don't stand straight up, instead stand up straight slowly. I use to get major head spins and started standing slowly and they have stopped.

If you get dizzy and you're scared; you're not ready for handstand push up yet....Handstand push ups are great for spatial memory..
The only way to learn those is to do it..It's a Very long road...
However, you can always start on the wall to build up the proper strength in your deltoid's.... but that will do NOTHING for alignment and balance needed to do freestanding handstand..Last edited by Realomegablaze; 10-09-2012 at 11:01 PM.

I got a really positive reply from my local MP a few days ago about building a local exercise park. He said he forwarded my suggestions to someone from my local council and that someone will be back into contact with me soon. Kind of excited now.
In related news, I bought some cheap gymnastic rings and tried some dips on them yesterday, they were so much harder than regular dips, but they'll definitely be a regular addition to my routine now.

is training for planche pushups once a week enough? I want to master the tuck planche and I want to know if I can do it by training it for only one day a week. Same thing applies to one arm pullups/chinups. Can I master it by working it only once a week? This is my upper body split: Tuesday: weighted pullups and weighted dips, Thursday: pushups, chinups, ring dips, Saturday: pullups and pushups. benefit from tuesday and saturday, but I want to add planche work and one arm pullup work on thursday. This is what I'm thinking: Tuesday: weighted pullups and weighted dips, Thursday: planche work, one arm pullup work, ring dips, chinup hypertrophy work, saturday: pullup endurance work, slow stop chinups, pushup endurance work, slow stop close grip pushups. I'm sticking with this split, but what type of one arm chinup and tuck planche work should I do to get a full workout and full progression? sets, reps, exercises for those? thank you.
