He doesn't want to do it becasue boxers get paid in Millions and MMA fighters get paid in thousands. Why do you think Dana white made the " (Roy Jones) must have run out of money" comment? Jones will not fight for less than and 1 million if not more.

He doesn't want it because it's lose/lose. Silva wins he's supposed to. He loses and the mainstream media will absolutely crush MMA. It's a pointless fight. It's two different sports.

Exactly. There's no winning for UFC here. They shoot down the fight, they look weak. The take the fight, and Silva loses, they look weak. Silva beats Jones, he beat a 40-year old has-been. They might as well take the fight. (Although I'm sure some idiot here will disagree with me. Actually, probably more than one. ) Simply because of the fact that they might as well take as much money for the fight as they can.

Just leave it to Dana to put the kibosh on something that would make more money for the UFC than ever before. Dana really isn't as smart as he's cracked up to be. I gotta' think there's ulterior motives here. Like: He doesn't want Anderson Silva to somehow get beat at his own game, and get exposed. That's the only viable reason I can think of. Otherwise, this fight would make the UFC A TON of money. I can't see why he'd be against it.

It would make them alot of money but they would also make alot of money with Silva fighting Forrest, not as much infact maybe not even close but it would still sell. Lets look at it this way.

By Forrest - ok he looses some of his aura, but he beaten by an ex-champ and a guy who is a weight class above him and his huge and also a very marketable and liked guy.and then Silva go's back to cleaning up 185. also chances are this is going to be alot more entertaining then Silva v RJJ.

By RJJ - In the octagon he gets beat, he's beaten by an aged fighter who is i hate to say it as he is a boxing legend (past it). Silva's rep as allegid pound4pound king is gone, he suffers a huge loss which is carear would suffer and not only that but the UFC's image is put at risk by a past it boxer who comes and and takes out the UFC's best fighter in his own backyard and fighting to his rules. complete disaster


I know the likelyhood of RJJ beating Silva is nigh on impossible especially in an MMA match, but tbh the risk just outweighs the cost.

Anderson Silva will kill Roy Jones Jr. inside the Octagon in an MMA fight and Roy Jones Jr. will destroy Anderson Silva in a 12-round boxing match. This probable fight absolutely doesn't makes sense.
