I don't believe it's a factor in total score, but there is a score category called offensive points which is based on the number of troops you kill while attacking. Either way he's not getting anything out of it since our towns are empty, so he's just a *******.

If population increases while the happiness you produce stays the same, growth decreases. As your population increases, you need more happiness (wine/museum) to keep the growth rate up.

Edit: found the formulas.
Net happiness = Happiness produced - ( Population + Corruption * Happiness produced )
Growth Rate = Net happiness * 0.02

You'd be a fool to think this guy isn't using scripts/automation. He probably has multiple computers scripting everything out for him... he just sits back and watches.

Your gold stacks, but materials you must send back and forth. That's why you should colonize as close to your initial island as possible.
