Aww, thanks NVR. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the 60s. I was actually hoping to crush 75s like hobbes does, but I guess I didn't have it in me. Plus, I didn't want to look like a complete idiot in front of them boys and them try and ask if I needed help. I would have dropped the DB on their toes if they asked.

Thanks. I hit 65s for reps several months ago, so it is doable. I probably just need some more rest in between training days, but since I am basically not doing legs (resting my lower back) I am rotating upper body stuff more frequently. Hopefully, only for a couple more weeks.

you are right. I probably would have at least tried it with a spot, but like I said I didn't want the boys to think I needed the help so I just looked badass at 60. lol. I have actually been quite irritated with quite a few people at the gym lately. Just stupid people. Nothing new.

Weigh-in: 211.5. No change. Meh. I guess I will take it since it is that TOM. But I have my trip to Houston this weekend, so I am going to have to be very careful so I don't gain like I did on my last mini vacation.
Today I did back. I tried doing the bent over rows, but my lower back started talking to me, so I backed off from that one. Plus, I remember why I don't like the BB row, it's an awkward arm position in either overhand or underhand. I like the T-bar row much better for it's neutral grip. No matter, I made it a good workout.
assisted pull-ups superset with assisted dips
90x6
80x6
70x6
60x6
seated cable rows, V-bar grip
100x8
110x8
120x8
pulldown to chest with wide neutral grip bar
100x8
120x8
140x8
Actually now that I think about it, that wasn't much of a workout. I gotta be forgetting something. Maybe it felt longer because I was playing around with some other moves like back extensions and step ups. Back extensions felt fine. I still have little twinges though out my whole hip area almost like sympathy pains. Still tight in the mornings with my lower back. But overall, I have full range of motion and I am able to lift heavy shiz, since I have been helping my dad clean out his FOUR storage units full over tools, parts, HVAC equipment, etc. No issues moving those boxes through all planes of motion. And running and moving laterally ins't a problem either. So, i don't know. I may try tomorrow to get some machine leg stuff in like lying leg curl and leg extension. I do gotta get these hips moving again though. I got two weeks til Boomer shows up and shows me what's up!"There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. I had to double check your bodyspace when I saw your weight. Srsly, you do NOT look ~200. You look really good - well proportioned in fact! 140#'s on the pull down? That's great!

WTG on the db benching and the OHP. Mmm I wanna get back to my 75s so bad once this shoulder heals up, haven't gone over the 60s lately, feelsbadham.jpg. Benching is one of those things that takes a massive hit for me too if I'm cutting. Ah just be happy you have shoulders that are not injured, you'll work your way up to heavier dbs given enough time.

fingers crossed everybody. Supposedly the Army heard back about my waiver, so I am going in today to see what's up. Hopefully, it will be any kind of news that we can move forward with. I'm tired of playing the waiting game.

Ok, so still no real news from the Army. Apparently, last week they heard back, but the decision was "disapproved" for entry into the Army, because there were no basic seats available. WTF? People are going to basic training all the time. Well, thankfully my recruiter called bullsh!t and asked them why, because I am well aware that I have to go to basic. Then they said, "oh, well since she knows, let us look at it again." Double WTF! I have heard that people from other branches will walk away once they find out they have to go to boot camp again. I don't care. I think it would be fun. So, now we are waiting to hear back on that. I am going to probably give it two more weeks, and then if we are not anywhere, then I am going to start talking about other alternatives (i.e. reserves)
But, the good news is I was able to do somewhat of a leg workout today. It was slow going at first to stretch my back, and I stayed mainly with machines, but I did get a decent burn in the quads and hammies with some of the stuff. Thankfully it's my right knee that is giving more of a problem with depth than my back. I know that sounds weird saying thankfully, but I get this knee problem from time to time and it goes away after a while, so I'm not worried about it. Sad though, my jump rope broke :-( No real workout but here are a list of machines I used
leg press
lying leg curl
leg extensions
hammer strength ground base machine
hack squat
knee raises with cable machine (loop around your ankle and bring your knee up like a runner driving through. Works upper thigh/hip)
I have a new goal. I am determined to get to 199 by October 1. 4 weeks to get my ass in gear. The biggest hurdle will be this weekend in Houston. Just gotta eat small portions.
And to end on a good note. I got a compliment from the guy at the supplement store I go to. He is young 20-something so it was nice that he even noticed. Of course he has seen me before, but I felt all warm and fuzzy for a moment. woohoo!"There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Yea, NVR, you are thinking of Navy Seals training. Although I wouldn't mind giving it a try (not sure if I could make it), regular boot camp is totally different. Yeah, you get yelled at, but there are two main reasons why I wouldn't mind doing boot camp again. 1. I've been there, done that, so I know what to expect. 2. I would be so grateful and being back into the military that I would be appreciating the opportunity to be there.

Ugh, so tired today. Aunt Flo is here for a visit and she took the wind right out of me. I am finishing up down at my dads going through 4 large storage units worth of crap and consolidating into two. Trying to paint a picture, all of these storage units will house celebrity-size RVs, and one even has an upstairs storage space. Now add to that...oh, about 40 years worth of collecting, and that is what I have been dealing with for the past two weeks. My traps are on fire from all the box lifting. Thankfully I will be done tomorrow. So, yeah, I am counting today as my shoulder day.
I will get one more solid workout in tomorrow, before going to houston for the weekend. Supposedly our hotel has a gym. I hope it has a decent functioning treadmill so I can at least get up and run in the morning, because as hard as I am going to try to eat well and in controlled portions, there is chance that may not happen. Just trying to minimize damage."There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Oooohhhhh... gotcha. I have to admit though... part of me would really like to try that one time just to see how long I could last. Dat feeling when the Drill Sgt. says "Day 1 ain't over until half of you quit!!!" hahaha... ouch!
Re: moving... I would DEF. count that as a workout day. I've tried to do both before and (unless it's an easy move) I just wanna die.

Woohoo!!! I finished my dad's place today. Thank GOD!!!!
Before that, I had a fast and furious chest session at the gym. Very little rest in between sets
Bench press
45x20
65x15
85x15
105x15 (I had to do two rest-pauses as my chest was already fried)
Incline DB press
20x12
25x12
30x12
pushups on smith machine
10/10/10 wide/normal/close reverse grip x 2 rounds
sprints on treadmill - 10 sprints 30 secs on 30 secs off at 2.0 incline and 8.0 speed. Probably the most effective cardio in such a short amount of time."There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Nice chest session mater.
Would like to try Bootcamp for a couple days, oddly it sounds like fun (minus the excessive running but meh I can put up with any kind of exercise I think.) My main concern would be losing too much weight due to all that cardio, srs. I'm under the impression you actually get to do some fun shiz in bootcamp - hand to hand combat, shooting, possibly working with explosives/grenades, climbing over walls, crawling in mud. Sounds like my ideal Saturday in the woods. Not sure I could refrain from laughing a bit at the whole yelling thing, srs, I either walk around finding everything funny or I'm all ham rage, not much else comes outta my brain.Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

Lulz at the bolded parts. You get to do all of those things that you mentioned, just spread out over the whole time. You also have to do fire guard, either dailey, or every other day. That is getting woke up for an hour each nite and you having to walk around the barracks and basically guard it. I hated fire guard. You have to do the same thing in the field. I always laughed at the DSs also. My last PT test, I got 171 pushups in my 2 minute timed test. A perfect score for me would have been at that time 80 pushups.

^^ getting gassed is no fun. No weights in boot camp They serve some sort of chicken every single day. Always wanted to do air assault course rapeling was my favorite along with the ruck marches. Would I do it again hells no those b!tches there srs I wanted to move in with the boys. Mater shouldn't have a problem though because of her age. They'll leave her alone kinda like a yoda respect.
