you are no longer allowed to complain then (not that I recall you ever complaining).
I was thinking about my gym the other day and thought about how low I paid for the primary stuff:
Bodymasters flat bench - $40
York GHD - $50
Parabody 843 - $150 (after selling off the 300lbs set it came with)
My biggest investments are in the vintage York weights and my bar. Oh and flooring would be next.

Flooring is pretty damn expensive. As your gym grows(equipment costs grow) so do the flooring needs

HA - there is no growth, I am pretty locked into a 200 sq ft area. But I did go with with the rolls instead of the stall mats (glad I did) because I was able to get a partial roll of the stuff below. Even now though, I don't have the whole area covered, just the parts I need. I might get a stall mat for my GHD (although I already hit my head on the ceiling so the extra 3/8" thickness is not ideal, but it's a drop ceiling, so meh. But I would like to have a full 8'x8' under my rack.

would rep but on spread
i did a quick and dirty calculation of my CL buy/sells since 2012 (started after reading a thread on here so that I could fund my home gym without spending anything) and after buying and selling, I'm up over $1000 cash plus the equipment I've obtained (all the main equipment below plus weight plates, bars, belts, shoes, KB, collars, mats). I am in a slower market too (canada)
parabody rack + lat
atlantis b177
powerblock u90lbs
ironmaster 80lbs
5-50lb hex set

I don't have any special apps or alerts set up like, just checking CL manually

Elitefts 2x2 for sale...
Hi I'm new to the forums, but to anyone interested I'm looking to sell my Elitefts 2x2 power rack with all the bells and whistles and even though it ain't the greatest barbell (lol old Sports Authority brand) I will sell that and 300 lbs of plates along with the rack offer...I'm basically looking for a way to save up and get funds to get the Sorinex Dark Horse instead. I have the craigslist link to anyone interested in making me an offer. Thanks. newhaven.craigslist.org/spo/4630603377.html

I'm looking for a power rack and came across this:
"PowerTech (sic) Power Rack with Marcy bench, olympic bar, 255lbs of olympic plates, set of 15/30/50lb dumbells. All in very good shape with the exception of a small tear in the bench on the side from moving."
I'm not a fan of that bench with the leg crap on it, I mainly want the rack. He's asking $500 -- would be a 3 hour round trip to pick it up. What would you guys offer? Or has something else taken the place of the Powertec for an entry level rack?
Appreciate it!

The Powertec rack is a good entry level rack and probably fine for everyone expect for the top 5% of lifters. $500 is actually not a bad price for the package. But if you mainly just want the rack, let the seller know that and offer $250 for it. If he says he will only sell as a package deal, try to talk him down to $400 and hopefully he will accept or meet in the middle at $450 or so. GL!

I've got the Parabody 874 and I don't care for the padding.
Has anyone used this bench? http ://stlouis.craigslist.org/spo/4634564285.html

I didn't get the hoist stuff. It's mildly frustrating, I'm constantly looking for deals and I still can't even get them. Does anyone know what kind of weights these are?

Terrible photo for an ID but the spoke pattern on the small plates and the basic design of the 45s looks like American Barbell... I suspect it's a mix of two different styles of American Barbell plates. That's my guess but they could also be Cybex (made by American Barbell) or DP... or maybe I'm just completely wrong.
If my guess is correct, I think they're worth checking out. See the vintage iron thread for some photos of examples of the plates that I mentioned.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #32 []---[] ()---() York Barbell Club #43 ()---() ▉---▉ Equipment Crew #50 ▉---▉

Great starter Olympic set for $30 in Wash DC area
This was posted a few hours ago. Best deal I've seen for a budget Olympic set in this area. Only $30, and enough stuff to get started lifting. Can't beat that.

Weider weight plates in various weights (5 lbs, 11 lbs, 33 lbs, 35 lbs, 44 lbs etc), curl bar and bench bar. Used but good condition. Available for morning or evening weekday pickup. $30 OBO. Contact for address.

Yeah it's a deal. It's probably not a high-end bar, but fine for starting out. $30 is easily the lowest entry point I've ever seen for a decent Olympic set. The plates actually look like they're in decent shape. I don't see a lot of rust, just beat up paint. That's easy to correct.
