I had fun for the 10 hours I played it, but it isn't worth $60.

Do you play mount&blade online, or chivalry?
If so how would you compare the two?
I see you dissuading people from this game in the other thread as well. I'm a big fan of m&b warband, and the online at least looks somewhat similar just M&B is more large scale. So just wondering if it's because you aren't interested in this style of games or it's just not that good cause I'm excited for this game.

mount and blade is hands down the best game Ive ever played, i ****n loved the melee system and I cant get my head around why every single other game out there doesnt base theres off that.
Im playing conan right now, and the melee system is dogchit compared to mount and blade.
mount and blade is the most underrated game ever.

Agreed brah, can't wait for bannerlord. Was hoping for honor was going to be the game to pay until it comes out, but from the sounds of it I guess not.
Fair enough, thanks for the info good to know.
If you do like that combat style/territory control theme, I highly recommend you grabbing Mount and blade: Warband. On sale you can get it for a few bucks, and the online is still going strong. On top of ridiculous amount of hours in the single player and all the mods.
For that premium currency chest stuff, do the weapons and armours give buffs? Or is it purely cosmetic?Last edited by CanadianSpartan; 01-31-2017 at 09:37 AM.

Thanks for the info. If it wasn't clear, I hadn't actually played it, I was just speculating from a few of the videos I watched.
I wasn't terribly interested in the game in the first place. Like others have mentioned, M&B Bannerlod is on my radar for sure. Game is fun as hell and I like the scope of battles with hundreds of players fighting eachother.

This.
I was talking about this earlier this week with a buddy... not the 100 per side. I think 20-25 would be okay, but this sounds excellent if executed correctly.
Have a base/castle on each side, and huge field in the middle. With an increasing respawn timer every like 20 deaths. First time to make their way to enemy base wins. Perhaps utilization of the minions... where you can command archers. Idk... this game has massive potential. But the 4v4, 2v2, and 1v1 will get incredibly dull very quick.

you're not very bright are you?
there is an elimination mode 4v4 with no respawns you just haven't played it.
you really think the graphics in this game and consoles could handle 200 player lobbies? never go full retard.
im glad its 4v4, I could see an argument made for 6v6 but the ganking and ganging up I saw in the CB when you played againt a coordinated team was absolutely stupid

Reading some of the threads before I was getting hesitant on this game. After playing the open beta today, I can now say that this game impresses me. It's beautiful, and been having 0 issues with performance. a constant 60 fps, and fluid response times. It's a beautiful game, and the fighting style is just as good IMO. Such a high skill ceiling, while it is easy to understand. Only issue I will run into with that is that a lot of it is reflexs/reactive.
There is definitely some issues with connections and bugs. But for the 5-6 hours I played, having 2-3 issues isn't too big of a deal as long as it gets looked into/fixed fairly quickly.
Didn't have any issues with the P2P connections today either, not a single host dropped in dominion or elimination. Enjoying the elimination mode a lot. Also love the fact that in some of the modes the item bonuses are removed so the pay2win gets removed in a competitive setting.
The characters also all feel quite unique. Gave a test ride of all 9 they have available. With the different combos and attack speeds they all feel different. Can't wait til it releases now so I can get my bae the Valkyrie.
They said they are following the RB6 method. They laid it out pretty well. Their faction war seasons last 3 months. After every season they will bring out a few new maps and items. They aim to drop 2 new characters each season but if they can't complete em in time they will make sure 1 gets released. There is also 1 class for each faction not available to play right now in the beta. There will be 4 of each when Feb 14th comes along.

I'm definitely impressed with the Open beta. I need to see what the other modes are going to be on launch, though. The 4v4 with minions is fun but I think a larger scale battle would be good, too. Maybe something like Dynasty Warriors - you and 3 friends vs unending hordes of minions and some "generals".
