Yes and no. I say gateway drug, because there is a line most will not cross over alcohol. Even now that weed has been legal for sometime here in CA, those that weren't smoking before, still aren't.

Weed, booze is just like another vice or sin as I call it. You need more and more for the same effect. I can have one drink and feel pretty tipsy, my friend can have 4 and still barely feel anything. Weed is the same way, I can be gone from one hit, my friend can pack 2 bowls and I'd never know that he smoked. Point is with ever vice, our bodies adapt, we need more and more to feel the effects, more caffeine, more porn of a debauchery nature, more of the drug, or a different drug all together. There is aline most will not cross with booze, that line is more easily crossed with weed because you've already crossed a line to begin with.

The drug itself has nothing to do with bringing anyone any closer to trying any other drugs. It's a relatively tame drug with potential medicinal purposes (in addition to recreational ones) and is not highly addictive. Developing a tolerance is slow and reducing your tolerance is quick, meaning you're not likely to seek anything harder to chase the same high.

The only significant barrier broken when using weed is that of the criminal element.

I appreciate his music and what he offers as an artist but it’s f*cking weird how people insist on portraying him as… what, your friendly neighborhood gangster? We dig up 10 year old tweets to nuke careers, and this guy makes actual songs about controlling your wh*re by slapping her in the face, and he is going to commentate on the Olympics? Strange.

Agreed. It is an extreme paradox. But, it is all boiled down to politics, Group Think, to support their lifetime careers. Tow the line for life or be a one-hit-wonder.

I don’t like edibles. It makes your number 2’s smell like weed. But what I really don’t like it my tummy seems to take issue with them. Smoking it I’m perfectly fine. I go to my doctor monthly and I’m compliant af anymore. Colitis in remission but I still should be careful when it comes to eating drugs. They’re great, I just am going stick to smoke.

Then I spent the next 10 minutes standing there pondering the platonic concept of “doorness.” Then I was kinda clued in that maybe there was some effect.

A couple of years ago a friend at the gym asked if I could install a ceiling fan for her, I had a doctor's appointment, she was going to drop me off, go get the fan then come get me and I would install it. I always need to eat pretty soon after a workout and I forgot my lunch at the gym and told her we need to go back. I got a weed cookie she said, just eat that and it will tie you over and when you get out we will go for breakfast. I thought WTF, I’ll be out of the doctors in a few minutes.

Well I got in there and the place had some people waiting, the doctor was held up in emerg. Strapped on the tunes and began the wait. The doctor arrived and began taking patients. There was this old lady about 3 seats down who started talking to me. I couldn’t hear her.

Ok, so this isn’t good either I am deaf or she is whispering. So I told her to speak up several times. I still couldn’t hear her and at this point the receptionist was looking at me and laughing. Then I realized that I had turned my music down but still had my earbuds in and turned a conversation into a shouting match and I still didn’t know what the woman said.


As I passed by the receptionist she said you’re just too damn funny, you made my day. I had my doctors appointment. We know each other pretty good, even played golf and fished together, when I was leaving he said wait up Dunk and handed me a prescription. I looked at it and it was for Visine eye drops. We both busted out laughing, there was no doubt he picked up on my state lol

Yeah, Edibles can be a fun ride...

Never understood the appeal of weed. Every time I've done it, the only experience I've had was a) mild vibration sensation in the legs, b) complete inability to focus or concentrate c) mild dizziness d) feeling of vulnerability and paranoia. No euphoria or elevated mood. It has helped me sleep in smaller doses though. Maybe it just doesn't work well with my physiology.
