Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

06-02-2016, 04:35 AM #76so you rot in your car commuting to work every day?Are you retired or self-employed? The above option does not apply to the average 20-something alpha-wannabee wage slave.
When you have a transferable skill or you're able to work remotely through the internet it's very attractive.

While I don't think it will completely burst something has to give, at least in my area. Housing prices are up 40%+ since 2011. We are 3% away from 2007 pricing. It just can't sustain that long term. I'm no expert but I predict housing will drop 20% in the next year or 2 in my area, Boise ID.
I can afford the house I want right now, $200K for a 3 bed, 2 bath, dbl garage but don't want to end up owing $20K-$40K (10%-20%) more than it's worth.
Interest rates have to come up, housing market will drop to where it should be and not over inflated like they are now. It's a catch 22, housing prices come down but interest rates go up. I would rather pay higher interest on a cheaper house knowing I can sell and not have to pay a huge chunk out of pocket.
Good thing my half of the rent is $367.50 for the house I rent with my fiance.
