Well, let's see a verified sub-4.0 time then! If he really ran under 4.0, you'd be able to find verification of that definitely. There would be a lot bigger fuss over this guy if he could really run that fast and was a potential football prospect. Otherwise, it seems maybe he can only run 4.1, and even that hasn't been definitely substantiated according to the New York Times. I'm sorry, but I don't rely on second hand information. I need verifiable proof or evidence before I believe something I read in a forum. That's a good policy for anyone who seeks advice or info from the internet....
If someone verifies a sub-4.0 time for this guy, then I would happily admit I was wrong!

Well, that's my point.....why wouldn't they place an emphasis on someone running under 4.0??? Obviously we've never seen that documented before. You would think there would be a HUGE emphasis on it if it were true. That's why I am being so adamant about proof that it happened. If there is proof, again, I'll gladly admit I was wrong.

Ok, since no one else is doing any research to prove that this is true, I decided to investigate. I did a search on ESPN's website for "Gatlin" and these are the articles that come up that had anything to do with his tryouts. There is no mention anywhere of a 40 yard time. There is a great deal of mention, however, about how this man tested positive for doping--using testosterone and steroids-- and how is world record will be removed from the books and he has been banned for 8 years from participating in track and field. His ban from track and field probably explains why he is trying to find a career in the NFL--cause he is an unemployed doper!

all I can say is google Noel Devine... it says he runs a 4.4 but he is much faster plus the 4.4 is not verified.. I was wrong but Reggie Bush runs a 4.33 laser and that was with a bad start, and during the all american game they said that Devine is faster than Bush in person... so just look up his highlight tapes

ha....so it says he runs a 4.4, which isn't even a verified 4.4, and you say he's even faster than that? That's like saying you can squat 300, even though you've never done it, but you can do even more than that; that makes zero sense. 4.33 with a bad start? The guy's ran a million laser'd 40's in his life, 4.33 is the best he can do. And fine this kid may be as fast as bush, that's why he's one of the top prospects in the nation; there aren't 100 other top prospects on this board, so I don't get where all the low-mid 4's are comin from.

wrong.. It says on rivals he runs a 4.4 as an estimate, but however he has never been timed in the 40 and he is faster than a 4.4 so I am saying that the 4.4 is not his speed its just an estimate but if you watched the all american game they even stated he has much more speed than that of a 4.4 sorry for the confusion

the reason I made that post is because I knew someone would look on rivlas and see it says 4.4 even though he has never been timed so I cant say he is 4.1 material but I do know he is faster than the rainey kid who lasered 4.4 at a combine last year... really I guess it cant be said what his 40 is if hes never run it but they ESTIMATE below 4.35
