When I stopped drinking soda it got to where I couldn't stand the taste of it any more. After 3-4 months I had a Coke at a party because I was so thirsty and it tasted horrible to me. WAY too sweet and acidic. Good job quitting though. Soda is one of the worst things for you. You'll probably lose weigh too just from stopping.

I need help with this issue:
I've noticed that I've gained a little bit of fat, and I'd like to be leaner. I drink A LOT of coke because I LOVE it. I was thinking of cutting it out of my diet.
A. how much would it affect me?
B. is it more fattening than whole milk?
C. what should I drink instead at restaurants, etc?

A. Cutting out Coke (not Diet Coke) will make a world of difference since you're cutting out a whole lot of carbs you will never need. Ideally, High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is something nobody should ever consume in any quantity. Since you said you drink a lot of Coke, cutting it out will help you shed weight much faster.
B. Soda is definitely much more fattening than whole milk and provides no health benefits whatsoever.
C. I drink water. You can cut down to Diet Coke and then move on to eliminate it completely.
