I would do it if I wasn't totally embarrassed. If I had the body to pull that off and look good (like the women on here do NOT like the cardio bunnies at the gym) I would wear it. I would only wear it if it were a hot day and not the middle of winter otherwise it DOES look like you are doing just to get attention.
I am pretty sure guys look at me in the gym wearing what I normally wear anyway--tight yoga pants and a fitted t-shirt. All guys check out women. Even women check out women tbh.

Must have cause I checked out your original post and your only other comment (until someone decided to bump a 2005 thread) and there was nothing in your comments that lead me to believe you feel a woman should be wearing a burka.
Heaven forbid you ask women that dress a certain way, what is their motivation for that attire?
When I go to the gym, I wear a sports bra and bike shorts. I'm certainly not offended in the slightest by any of the OPs comments and would have normally posted...but didn't see the point since the thread is from 2005.Workout Log / Chat thread...Embrace the Dragon: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169711903

I wear spandex capris and a tank top pretty much every time I'm at the gym. I swear I don't do it for the attention--I just don't like wearing loose clothes when I run or lift. I like to see my whole body in the mirror so I know I have proper form, and I hate the feeling of pants chafing my legs when I run. *shrug*

I wear fitted clothes. I rarely wear short shorts unless it's leg day and it's warm out. I wear a sports bra under a loose tank. I take off my tank for posing. Sometimes I have to practice posing in the main gym off to the side when they are doing 40 bazillion classes. If people look, idc. I smile. I'm friendly. I'm not there to make anyone look but I sure as hell am not trying to look good so people won't ever give me a glance.

I always wonder what people have been searching for to find threads like this.
Bumping a thread with interesting info about training, nutrition, etc - I get that mistake made by newbie, especially as searching the old threads before starting a new one is totally acceptable, but why this random argument about what women wear in the gym? :-)

I suspect in these cases it's some newbie going through all the threads and randomly commenting on them with no compassion for the rest of us, who'd like to see dumb threads stay dead.
In fact, the person who bumped this one has 11 posts count. Please newbies, don't do it.Follow my 2018 competition prep here:

Right, Googled yoga pants. That's what I always wear to the gym because they are comfy and flexible.
I do get the comment as all the Google images were pictures of butts but I wear them because they are the best thing to work out in. Jogging bottoms are horrid, loose and don't deal with sweat. What else is there? Bike shorts are tight as well. Perhaps a tennis skirt, too short.
I give up and will wear what's comfy

Like most girls, I wear what's comfortable and functional. For me, that's tight capris, or small shorts in the summer, and a tight tank top with sports bra underneath (I don't like the built in bras). Tight capris/ yoga pants definitely ARE the best to squat in, as are tight short shorts. Long or loose pants are just annoying, all the fabric gets in the way. I don't like t-shirts, too bulky and hot and restrictive. In my university gym, they had a no-tank-tops rule, which was awful. I bought a whole bunch of tanks as soon as I left university and went to a "normal" gym. Plus, I like to stay as cool as possible, doesn't everyone hate the feel of sweaty fabric clinging to skin? That said, I've never worn just a sports bra, but I wouldn't hesitate if it was really really hot. I play floor hockey on a co-ed team, and I'm usually the only girl wearing a tank top and tight pants or shorts. I feel kind of naked compared to the other girls, but I don't care, it's just so much more comfortable for me. At the gym, I don't care if guys look, not that I've ever noticed one blatantly staring. Hey, I also reserve the right to check out a hot guy at the gym, so gotta give them the same permission.

I'm late but would like to contribute.
I work out in tiniest of shorts and skimpiest of bras only bc I haven't found a sweat wicking burqa. Anyone with a link?
