Liquidity issues probably. All the big players couldn't just nail the absolute top and dump everything. So they get out over time as it's approaching the top/in process of topping out. Then make up some bullchit narrative to feed the masses to avoid getting torch and pitchforked.

The most important thing to know is that because neither of the three major US indices topped out at the same time, it is highly unlikely we are going to enter a bear market. Also, people have been calling a top since 2010 and I did not see any sort of euphoric buying that set the ATHs. Could we make a low in 2019? Sure, will it be below 21k on the DJIA? Unlikely.

No idea how to play tomorrow, Premium on SPY puts is getting insane. Vix calls too risky with it being so high. Oil seems to be finding a bottom, but who knows. Lots of oversold good companies out there, but they just keep dropping

Yep feels weird. I'll get up for the open I suppose. Curious to see if we get a big move in the morning only to have it reverse midday. My investing days might be drawing to a close for the time being though gonna have to put all my money into rebuilding my 6 month buffer. Down payments are no jokeFitness connoisseur

I think this is prepping for a slingshot move to the upside. First scare everyone with a panic sell off then rally so hard no one will know what to do. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see some months with 10-15% rallies in 2019

This is some pretty clean af distribution so far. Won't be confirmed until a markdown happens but if this is what's going on, the dump hasn't even happened yet boyos this is still the top and smart money dumping on the moon boy's heads
What's a interdasting thought is this might just be PSY (preliminary supply dump basically) of a much fuking larger topping off in which case a buying climax is still to come.**MFC**

I use Vanguard's as well.
Everyone is saying this is it for the s&p, hold on to your butts. Every trader I follow is saying this is it. Be careful out there.

This is beautiful. Everyone's going into bonds (the only bubble out there) and calling for 50% crash in the indices. Buy buy buy buy buy

There's also lots of money on the sidelines. I also did not see any sort of buy climax when the ATH's were set. With this nonsense of impeaching Trump, it is to be expected money will get scared but nothing of the sort will happen so we'll resume the rally sooner or later.

Thing is in the short term things were always gonna be volatile in America with Trump and UK with Brexit, as the status quo and existing equilibrium was shattered. But you just need to think about it logically; in the short term markets are gonna fluctuate and be volatile whilst a new equilibrium is established, but long term things are gonna peter out.
If Trump makes America as competitive as he envisions it'll probably lead to even greater returns over in the US in the long run. But people are panicking and the media are pushing their headlines. I do feel for those retiring in the next few years though as investments will have taken a hit. They are the ones that are really panicking as to whether to stick or twist.Last edited by Comply_or_Die; 12-11-2018 at 02:22 AM.

Looks a lot like the thousand point spike off the lows last week followed by a huge sell off and new lows. I don't think we'll get that right now even though we're in the red after opening up 350 points. I think we rally all week. Euro is taking a beating.
Money is flowing into US equities and the $ with all the uncertainty in Europe. Germany, France, and some other country are on fire. Smart money is taking money out of that continent and the US is the only safe haven.
