thats unreal. it's especially unfathomable to me given that I haven't been OHPing so have the OHP of someone going into their 4th week of Starting strength
also cheers for chiming in on the shrugs, i've been doing them straight up straight down but some guy who I always see shrugging in my gym said to roll it back. think I pinched something doing it too, kuntBJJ / Greyskull LP log

nah, retraction of the scapula would also need to occur in a linear fashion. note the diamond shape of the trapezius. the middle region of fibers (from superior to inferior) would retract the scapulae towards the midline. shrugging up and back would be an inefficient way of achieving such an effective due to a severely limited ROM

What ExDubio11 said in regards to ROM. The technical term is passive insufficiency (yay exrx for teaching me this). All that really means is that specific actions prevent good lengthening from a muscle. When you shrug, you don't do it to attack the mid and lower fibres but the upper ones. They're primarily responsible for elevating the scapula, so if you want to hit them well then you should really only "elevate" your shoulders. That's why a cue a lot of BBers use is to try and touch your traps to your ears.
If you want the mid and lower traps to be bigger then that's where you want to retract and/or depress. So, the easiest way to overload them would be to rack pull with scapular retraction.“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

Just bumping to say these are pretty nice shoes. It feels strange walking around in them at first since the heel is so flat (was kinda falling backwards) and I have to focus on keeping my weight on the outside of my feel (flat feet), but it's good. I did some light front squats in them and they seemed fine. I'll have to wait and see how durable they are, since they are thin and light. They look better in person IMO.

Nice. If you're just wearing them to the gym they should hold up for quite some time. My MX20s are like new still. If you're going to do a lot of running in them, they might wear quickly. Should have grabbed a pair but I have to save money for xmas gifts. Rather get the GF something nice than stack another pair of shoes in the closet.

hey guys i just got done with my lower day today and I was having a pretty annoying pain right below my right hip whenever I would reach full squat during squats/leg press (so when the rom was essentially maximized) my hip pain would flair up, I generally go pretty deep on leg pressing and I feel that is somehow related to this :/ also obviously parallel on squats, any ideas my brohans ?

It'd be like preparing your entire life to bang 100 chicks in a row, getting tan, hitting the gym, making sure your hair looks right and reading the Kama Sutra, only to realize when you get there that you're gay and cannot get hard in the presence of women.

my knowledge on the subject (not to sound cocky) is the reason i didnt take exersize science this year. i feared i would be bored crapless.
not to mention the course is pretty elementary by most of our standards since it caters to grade 12 studens who know what the arm bone is lolAAU World SJ Powerlifting Champion, 2014
