Its not IIFYM at all. He chooses unprocessed natural whole foods and doesnt eat random candy bars and other stuff. He builds in 3-4 controlled cheats (pizza if I remember right) and his physique kind of speaks for itself (no homo). IIFYM is more of a reach the minimum requirements then eat what you want to fill the rest of your calories, thats not what this is.
ED got me, ill be darned if it gets anyone else.

Just to clarify: IIFYM is a concept that is focused on hitting your daily macronutrient targets (P/F/C). You do this by getting the majority of your nutrition from whole foods while including "non bodybuilding foods" into your daily intake. Using this approach there are no "good" or "bad" foods, only foods which help you hit your macros while maintaining optimal circumstances for performance.

Good to see you guys lurking in here I've scoped your thread to Cumulonimbus. Kick back and stay awhile if you'd like.
Enough with the negativity man. Take a step off your high horse and keep it positive.
On another 'serious' note, I eat 5 meals per day, and it definitely keeps things running. Of course I eat 5-6 meals per day to 'spark my metabolism.' Hot like fiya!
Don't worry about it Bavs. I know you didn't say it. Midget brings the hate to this thread, and his past posting in here proves that. I'll eventually just start ignoring it, but that usually takes a couple of daystrainingwithryan.substack.com

ES,
This post isn't a jab or anything. Just some points.
You just pointed out one difference between IIFYM and PSNA; I don't care if I hit a definite set of macro targets each day. I view my foods as primary macro sources, hence the name. This allows me to NEVER have to count macros, which makes things very convenient.
Once my personal template is set up, then my meals are easy as hell to make and construct. Many foods, boring and exciting, can be used with PSNA. You'll see a decent variety with my meals. You're not going to see new meals on a daily basis, because you're seeing my personal preferences. PSNA could use different meals on a daily basis, I just choose not to.
Like I said before to Midget. If there is controversy about PSNA in your mind, then just keep using your own method.....it isn't going to hurt me any. I'll keep helping the people who enjoy PSNA and you keep on helping the people who enjoy IIFYM. There are plenty of people on this earth to go aroundtrainingwithryan.substack.com

Why can't they contain more than three ingredients? My last meal contained 4 four example: Beef, cheese, bread, milk. Actually, I used BBQ sauce and ketchup as well for flavoring of the burger. I guess that means 6 ingredients.
I could have as many protein sources as I want in one meal, and the same goes for carb and fat sources as well. To be honest, I'm not trying to be Betty 'Mother#$%&ing' Crocker here. I'm trying to get things done, and thats what I'm doing.
So, it would suck if only being able to have 3 ingredients per meal was the case, but it is not. Since you're so into multiple ingredients, my advice to you is to buy into a Baskin & Robbins franchise, enjoy all 31 flavors every single day, and put on some more mass.Last edited by 2020Wellness; 06-12-2011 at 08:25 AM.

Observation
I'd like to point out that the only people bashing my approach are the ones who haven't tried it themselves. I'm not saying for those people to try it, I'm simply observing.
The people who are complimenting my approach and saying positive things about it are the ones who have actually tried it. I can tell you from experience, the ones who try it enjoy it. I keep in touch with those who use PSNA, and that allows me to know that they become long term PSNA users and they enjoy the results it brings them.trainingwithryan.substack.com

Cam you explain PSNA? Or link me to something that'll elaborate on it. I'm always down to learn! Thanks!
And just wanted add that I don't get why it's a big deal whether or not he is "doing IIFYM" or not. Why fuarking cares? Maybe dude just likes eating 5/6x a day, or enjoys less processed food. IIFYM is a good approach to nutrition, but the "crew" can be a bit pushy.
Disclaimer: Not hating on anyone, each to their own. I'm pretty neutral.

You're adding made up jargon to a concept that has been around for ages: eat in a deficit to cut. THAT'S what you are doing and that's why it works for you.
The reason people ALWAYS turn your threads into a pissing match is because you claim to have invented some awesome eating plan but when it comes down to basics, you are eating less calories. And showing pictures of whey shakes to a bunch of people who take time to build food porn will never get you kudos.I exercise for myself and no one else.

I had only one issue with the OP - when he claimed that IIFYMers are lazy. He admitted that he was wrong, and since then I have absolutely no grudges.
It's obviously working for him and other people. I'd die eating like this, but to each his own. The most important thing is compliance and adherence to diet.
And I agree that IFFYM crew could be a tad pushy. Doesn't apply to prominent members like Paul, Erick, Bill etc.
Obviously, 2020Wellness has discipline. And for some people food is just fuel, it's the realityLast edited by juliacheh; 06-13-2011 at 08:17 PM.

Keep talking trash man. Whatever floats your boat. Oh ya, time for a shake! Mmmmmmmmmmm.....good!
I honestly don't understand why you say you'd die eating like this. I have fair variety, quality food choices, and am never starving myself. I just eat what I like. I really don't see the big issue i guess. This isn't shakes and nuts all day......lol. Honestly, I'm just eating what I like, as well as what is convenient.
Thanks for not stooping to the negative level of others in this thread. I appreciate that very much. Ok seriously, time for breakfast!trainingwithryan.substack.com

My Last Cut Results and June 12, 2011 Meals
I'd like to drop a photo of my last cut into this thread, as it will be a great reference point for me once I get to Week 9. I plan to go more than 9 weeks this time, as my plan is to see how I fair in the Labrada Lean Body Challenge that bb.com is putting on right now.
The before pic: 205lbs, no idea on bodyfat as I don't measure it.
The after pic: 185-190lbs, again, no idea on bodyfat as I don't measure it.
I'll be taking my official contest entrance pics today holding a newspaper. Something I've never done before, but I understand why it is necessary.
OK, onto the meals for the day!
M1 - 550 calories
PPS - Whey
PCS - Milk, Bagel
The classic Shagel! Love this meal
M2 - 550 cals
PPS - Chicken Breast
PCS - Popcorn

PFS - Light Mayo, Cheese Blend
Veggies - Little Romaine salad mix, nothing substantial.
M4 - 400 cals, estimation

Not all meals contain a protein, fat, and carb. That is not a guideline of PSNA.
This one will be better than the old one, I promise. You can already see that the ones who bring the negativity in are shut down quicker. I am not going to feed into their bull$hit this time around.
If they have legitimate discussion, I'll have a conversation. If they start with the insults, I'll forget about em.
Bottom line, I'm going to do some damage in the bodyfat department, I'm going to do it using the principles of PSNA, and I'm going to stick to my philosophy on quick/convenient nutrition that is effective.
Half of the major IIFYM players have already come in here and given me some positive feedback. The other half will most likely just stay out, which works for me.
Thanks for dropping by Ian,

I am just busting balls Ryan!
Personally my feeling is this. Do what ever the heck works for you and you like doing. Some people can cut / bulk / maintain with out having to do much other then what you are doing. Pick random foods you like and eat them. Others have to go balls out and track everything that enters ones mouth.
How low are you looking to get this time around. I know you said you dont know nor care about BF% so are you just going to shred as much as you can until you are happy? Or until it starts to effect the look of overall muscle lose. Looks like you ended up putting on some more mass after your last bulk to cut phase. Dont wanna lose to much of it
I kind of wanna see how nasty your calf's look after this cut. They look really thick in that AVI as of now.十

How quickly I forget...... That this is meaningless?
