also r6 forums people argue back and forth between 10w40 & 20w50 - rotella t6 only comes in 5w40 as far as i can see.

does my bike rly know the diff or give AF?

20w-50 is too heavy for an engine that spins that fast. I don't know what they're on about. My R6 always got Mobil1 10w40. I go by the book with all my bikes.

I just picked up some Castrol semi-syn crap for cheap on my lunch break for the truck. That'll do pig.

shouldnt be a debate, 10-40 is what you want, its all i will ever use in a sport bike, cruisers are different.
side note, all my parts for stunt bike will be here in two weeks, i could NOT find a used 2008 cbr rim for my bike, and they want 350 bucks for a USED ONE with no tire on ebay. fk offfff. Ordered a chinese replica for 180. Who knows, it may meet and exceed what I had.

How do you like the KTM? I'm still on the fence looks wise but the engine seems impressive as hell. Not as many creature comforts as the BMW (Heated grips, cruise, etc) but the motor might be worth the trade off. I'm going to see if I can demo one. It's on my short list.

Just took 3 hours to change my oil

2 of the 4 skid plate nuts were frozen, and I didn't realize that my funnel had a metal filter so it made it drain 10x slower when filling my bike and filling the jugs with bad oil

The bike is absolutely savage man. I have gotten comfortable on it and wheelie just about everywhere. The 1301cc LC8 engine is the gem of the bike easily; it's all any reviewer of any naked shootout has talked about. It torques everywhere and has the top end of a sportbike. I frequently spin the tire up near the top of 3rd when the power hits, which is ~100mph. The sound is mental too; I let people ride it all the time so I can hear from an outside perspective. I wouldn't use any of those creature comforts on this bike anyways; I only ride above 50 degrees, and my commute is riddled with morons cruising the speed limit in the fast lane so cruise control is futile. Only thing i'd like to fit is a quickshifter, but these engines like to float valves if you use one.

The looks have grown on me too. Initially I was just lukewarm about the preying mantis look, but I look back at it when I walk away every time. Hnnnnghgh

Exhaust, PCV, brake lines, rearsets, case covers done. I safety wired the drain plug to the filter, I know I should do the oil fill cap, anything else? Axle nuts, raiator cap?
Problems remaining are the coolant leaking from around the radiator cap. I didnt fuk around with JB weld yet. The subframe is tweaked, which normally I wouldn't car about, but the superbike tail doesn't line up correctly. I'm not positive it's the subframe thats causing it, but Armour Bodies is supposed to be pretty good about fitment. Other than that, just missing a right ram air tube. Thinking about just grabbing all three parts off a guy on the WERA forums and have these as backups if I can fix them. Also have my eye out for a used quickshifter.

Also, the gear indicator on the tach shows the wrong gear sometimes. Like sometimes it will change 5 seconds after I shift, sometimes never until I shift again etc. It shifts fine but showing the wrong gear could get me in trouble if I'm not paying attention so I'd like to fix it. Any ideas? Another thing is the clutch lever doesn't have any play even with the tensioner all the way in. How do I adjust it at the clutch?

Stock suzuki one. I just read a few posts about it, said to try to take it off first and clean it up and see if that works first.

The plate sits like 2 inches off the bike itself, so unless it was flush against the engine, the oil would spill into the plate just based on the angle of the bolts.

Nah I just didn't tighten them like a madman when I put it back on, and I had soaked em in WD-40 prior so they'll be fine

Zac have you looked into how hard it would be to put on the IMU the new ones have?

So someone tried to stick me up for my bike last night

I cant go into too much details now cos of what might be about to go down but they didnt touch me or my bike.

That new exhaust is good because its so loud people move out of your way when you filtering (legal in uk)

But its turned my bike into a chav magnet. Every kunt wants to try it on

Sup brahs just started riding this season. Bought a used Yamaha r3, came with a full yoshi exhaust uninstalled. I'm just wondering if I install it am I going to have to install a power commander as well? Thinking about selling the exhaust not sure if it's worth the hassle...

You don't need to, but without it your bike is going to be making popping sounds when you back off the throttle. I plan on putting a full exhaust on my bike as soon as I get time and won't be bothering with the PC.

Could it possibly damage anything though?

No, it wont damage anything. It will just run a little rich which is safer. Plus it will burble when you slow down for turns.

Cant comment on a 300 though.

Not sure why these jacklegs on here dont like the popping. Sounds pissening to my ears

Hnnnnghgh

Sounds like a chit skid plate if it doesn't have holes to drain the oil through, fuark. You put anti-seize back on the bolts?
Planning to demo one this weekend hopefully. The bike just seems like such a perfect blend of stupid power + comfort. The looks are growing in me slowly.

Making sure to demo anything that looks fun before I commit to the next bike.

Well local guy that I'm acquaintances with that parts a lot of bikes and has his own little shop actually has a 09 zx6r monster edition and said he would send me pictures "in a few minutes" of the right side this morning to see if he had fairings that I could use to put this bike back to perfect. Didn't respond after his few minutes just like last time he didn't answer me once he said he would powdercoat my wheels then when I asked when he wanted them he didn't respond. I'm about to drop $1k on oem replacement parts.

    Yep that's 95% a possibility.

Only thing is there is a 5 week minimum backlog and motovation.com is the only site that sells in the US.

Put down around 300 miles today. No real complaints in the comfort department, probably because my average speed was around 105.
