Yes I have not seen a better deal on a decent power cage so I couldn't pass it up and it certainly feels nice and solid.
The bench and safety bar height is good, when I pin my shoulder blades for bench I have about 3 cm clearance, unpinning brings the bar onto the safeties and I can get out fine.
Anyway I went out today and bought a set of standard spin lock dumbells and weights for them plus an olympic easy curl bar so I am pretty much setup now.
Very nice to workout and not have to wait on any equipment as well as listen to the music I like without headphones!

Thats a sweet gym you've got Astring. Excellent equipment choices. I'm very jealous of the leg press.

I got a quick question : I'm pretty satisfied with my current home gym but my white walls saddens me. What do you guys put on the walls of your home gym for decoration? I've seen some banners but can you get those for example?

You could always put mirrors up. Also you can put some motivating quotes on them. use adobe illustrator, create a file and take them to a vinyl guy for printing.
Letters may even stick directly to the walls if you can't get the mirrors.
I have ExtremistPullup on my gym mirror.
You could hire a artist to paint a weight lifting mural.
Check out this gym near me.

Well, here is my small home gym. My gym membership ended this Friday, yesterday was the second time I did small workout in home gym, feels pretty strange but I guess I have to get used it.
Posting not fully completed gym pics because I was too excited haha. I'll be moving equipment closer to the wall, will be adding couple mirrors, not sure yet what I'll be doing with floors and walls but something will certainly be done in next couple weeks.
As you can see equipment is very simple, nothing fancy. It's pretty much impossible to get anything decent in Lithuania for good prices, had to ship barbells/weights/bench from Poland, rack from Finland, and it cost me a lot, compared to what you guys in US/UK or other bigger countries can get for same or lower prices. But I'm happy anyway, seems that it should last me for quite sometime and iron is iron

Thanks, I like the idea of a quote on the wall.
Those are some pretty nice murals too, I just don't see that in my dungeon (which is my garage lol)“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.”-Mike Tyson.

Nice gym mate. Nice collection of grippers. I have some 250lb ones which I use for rehab on my wrists (right one mainly). Really tidy set up

Bought a home gym the other week - basically a very sturdy bench that goes into decline, flat, inclined and fully seated mode. Got myself a GPR370 squat rack with adjustable safety bars, an olympic barbell, and ez-curl bar and two 50mm dumbbell bars + 110 kg worth of rubber coated iron weights.
My question is this: The weights and the oly barbell came coated in a sort of smelly oil, which I'm guessing is for protecting them during transport. If anyone has experienced something similar, how did you get rid of it? I tried wiping a 2.5 kg plate with toilet paper for about 15 minutes and the smell still lingers a bit - for now I'm keeping them in a plastic bag while not in use.
Because of this I haven't even unpacked all the plates. I'm honestly considering putting the plates in the shower and just blast away with water, but I'm sure that would end up rusting the exposed iron in the middle of the plates. Any suggestions? I'm kind of lost on this one.

You can try spraying them with a grease-cutting agent (Windex or any number of other household sprays would probably work) and wiping them down with a rag, or a safer approach (as it would not promote rust) would be to use mineral spirits or paint thinner. You don't want to hose down your barbell--water will get inside the sleeves and rust them.

I have a Powertec Multi Gym and a Body Solid Cable lat pulldown machine (Plate Load) with all the attachments from rope to wide bar about 10 different ones I also have about 1100 lb of olympic plates, dumb bells from 10 to 50lb, 2 olympic bars, one for t-rows, a 45 degree hyperextention bench an olympic culr bar and a tricep bar.
What do I need to round out this home gym. The only problem I have is a bad knee that only has about 15 degree movement from a motorcycle wreak about 30 years ago so the squats are out of the question, other then that i'm in normal shape for a 49 yo male belly and all.
I guess my question is did I over do it as I bought this equipment or did I get the right stuff to get a good start on building myself up to what I was years ago.
I need honest opinions here just don't be brutal.
Thanks
