Thanks man...I just started doing them a couple of months ago, but my form never felt good enough to go over 275...its gotten better but after those 3 pulls @ 315 I know I need to work on it some more before I go up higher. I'm shooting for 400 by the end of this competition.

I have called off deads for quite some time cause of the injury. I love em but would rather be able to lift then try to improve deads and hurt myself . Its all abou the end goal and not just one exercize right?

All of the tendons are stretched as far as they'll go. It won't heal without surgery and then the surgery doesn't have a very good success rate in players that return. I would have liked to play, but I've come to terms with it. My right arm actually is longer than my left because of how loose my shoulder is. i'll post pics of it when I update for the contest.

I may be heading in the same direction with that points system. I know a few people that have done VERY well with it.
On another note.... Having peanut butter in my house caused cravings, and the cravings caused me to start eating way too much of the peanut butter. Hate to waste food, but after I weighed in at 200.4 this morning, I relalized that the nighttime PB cravings were killing my diet. So, in the garbage it went.Last edited by rtmiii; 09-09-2008 at 04:34 AM.

Well last week I began the tri-phase workout.
I am not doing 3 sets of 10. It hurts a little little bit but no too bad. I am going super super light tho.
Bench 85 lbs
squats 80lbs
no deads
basically super light on all exercizes and just focusing on good form. I figure that way when I do go heavier (very very gradually) my form should be spot on. Thanks for asking though. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

I've been rocking out to Dethklok for the heavy days like my "Phase III" workouts. Particularly the song "Bloodrocuted" (gets me super pumped on Chest days)
I've also got some Coheed & Cambria, Disturbed, Metallica (Black album & pre black album only), Basshunter, Crossfade, Ozzy/Sabbath, Wu-Tang Clan, and a bunch of mixed happy hardcore stuff."If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning."

I'm pretty much sticking with lower weights as well...watching form as well as pump. I read something that said ..."your muscles don't see how heavy the weight is, they just feel it"
It gave what i needed to be a lot more effective at the gym. Very slow reps, squeeze and get that ultimate pump, never stop...keeping a fluid motion regardless of the speed.
Getting great results. Been doing incline dumbbell press for 3 weeks now.
Started out with my last set being 70lbs with a spotter.
Yesterday, 4 sets of 8...55,65,75,85(6 on my own, last 2 spotted)
Feeling better, cutting up, getting stronger, lifting correctly and laughing at people who have horrible form and lift way too fast for no reason that are flexing in the mirror after every set.

I've dropped 5 pounds since beginning the contest, which puts me at a total of 20 pounds down since I started dieting and exercising more intensely. My goal has been to lose about 1-2 pounds per week to preserve muscle and so far I'm on track!
It's not just diet. It's not just exercise. It's diet AND exercise.
