people ask me how to train, and i answer "i look at what you do and then i do the exact oposite"
if your family was captured and you were told you needed to put 100 pounds onto your max squat within two months or your family would be executed, would you squat once per week? Something tells me that you'd start squatting every day

1. Northern hemisphere countries did better overall? 4 semi-finalists, 2 from each hemisphere (actually at 4/5 world cups) yet winner and 3rd place winner were south, having beaten teams for the SECOND time in the tournament. Something seems odd that you can lose twice in a world cup and come 2nd.
2. Unfortunately as several posters have said, northern hemisphere teams don't get further. again 13/20 semi teams from the south
3. Yes they teach geography, do they teach rugby in the UK? Up until 2007 there were only 3 competitive teams from the South vs 5 from the north. In fact up until 95, there was only 2! The same reason I said only 5 form north as they are the only competitive ones.
At the last world cup there were 8 teams from south vs 12 from north.
In head to head matches between ALL southern and northern countries in France (2007) southern won 18, northern 7, or 72% of matches.
4. Scotland a wooden spoon team? Scotland **** on ireland at world cup level. Scotland have made quarters at EVERY world cup and also make the semis once. Ireland on the other hand have only made the quarters TWICE. You could argue Scotland are the 6th best 'world cup' team.

sonbitch should write a book.
i kid ...anyways
and last i checked isnt the US team , albeit slowly, getting a lil better and not so much looked as the fat kid in a game of dodgeball?
and to the rugby coverage yea its a damn shame but honestly soccer seems like it just took off outta nowhere in the US as far as tv coverage so maybe rugby has a shot at getting more exposure in the near future.

Sevens is going to be an Olympic sport in the 2016 games. That means the sevens teams will get some funding, meaning the US will take it more seriously. Look what happened to soccer in the US when their team actually did something in the Olympics.

First game on the weekend. We had a in house trail match a few weeks ago which was good!! Played 60mins in the 1st XV then 20 in probablys. Bloody hard work with the heat.
Training is going well and i have noticed the 10kg i have lost. Running is alot easier, getting around the park is all good, dont feel unfit. Little too small at 91kg to be taking he crash ball but doing well at second phase running. Only problem that i have encountered is..... scrumming my body is still trying to get used to not havign that weight. When i was heavier my weight helped my technique get through now that i have lost it i got to get used to having less weight, same technical strength and some strength now. Think it will take a few weeks to get to it all again.
First trial game on the weekend against a team that was in our league last year (we have moved from west to east this year) should be good. West is big old fat forwards were as east is skilled smaller forwards. Looking forward to it all. Season starts on 5th Sept, when does everyone elses start?OFFICIAL RUGBY THREAD http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=107034291

Nope not against cows..... just wish people would realise that milk is not as great as they think it is.....I mean i love it tooooooo BITS but since cutting it and cheese and **** out. Felt alot better and not as bloated all the time etc
Please these are my views and my views only though..... im not inflicting them on anyone else i am jsut talking from the experience i have had with it all and how cutting milk out (not completely but parsh) has helped me loose a shed load of weight and train better.Last edited by Will87; 08-18-2009 at 01:56 PM.

91kgs and your still playing prop, good work. now that we do proper scruming rules i feel light at 100kgs and i have to concentrate so much more now to make up for my lack of size as 1 mistake at scrum time is currently resluting in alot of negative yards mostly on our own ball which being a losehead is my responsibilty.
game wize time i think i'm upto 140mins but its all broken up into 5 20min 1/4's and 1 40min half over 3games which is annoyin as i havn't had a solid 50+mins yet which i really need, to judge where my fitness levels are truely at. my season kicksoff on the 29th last friendly is on sat against weaker opostion for once.
congrats on the wieght an bf% drop if i had made that progress id defo be moving back into the backrow.people ask me how to train, and i answer "i look at what you do and then i do the exact oposite"

I was thinking of asking why Will hasn't gone to flank actually...weird. Seems like a decent size for a fetcher.

thats my extreme weight gainer shake. havnt had a need for it in awhile. light weight version is skim milk, 4 eggs, and vanilla light ice cream. not nearly as good but comes out to around 4-500 calories. decent meal.
if you have a decent blender pack it with ice , lil water, and flavored shake mix and makes a decent smoothie
