Dominik you're better than this brah.
Anyway Nadal just became the oldest player to reach all four major semis in a year.

It would be more impressive if he beat Djokovic, Federer, or even a Top 10 player to win a slam off clay because he hasn't done that since he was 27 (2013).
2004-2006 Federer has been dismissed as a weak era vulture by Nadal fans despite Agassi, Hewitt, Safin, and Roddick all having won slams when he beat them in finals. Name one slam winner Nadal has beaten to win a slam off clay since 2013 when he was aged 27.
2014 AO: Lost to Wawrinka.
2017 AO: Lost to Federer.
2019 AO: Lost to Djokovic.
Contrast that with his recent RG wins and US Open title.
#15: Wawrinka with a busted knee. Confirmed by knee surgery and falling out of the Top 250. Meanwhile Nadal who his uncle calls "an injured person who plays tennis" hasn't been out of the Top 10 since April 2005.
#16: Anderson who'd reached one QF in his career.
#17: Thiem. Slamless.
#18: Thiem. Still slamless.
#19: Grigolo/Medvedev???
He had chances to beat Djokovic and Federer off clay and he failed. He could be ranked #1 with a 0-13 record off clay against them in the last 5 years. That's worse than Murray when everyone was calling him a weak No. 1.

This is your thread so you can tell me to GTFO at any time.
However I haven't seen you even once make a negative comment about his posts in here. Does he get a free pass for being a fellow Nadal fan?
Instead of "fcking lol", talking about suicide, etc., maybe he could take 5 minutes to type a coherent response to a point being made. I want to know why Federer's first run of slams = vulturing but Nadal padding his total with potentially 5 more after Sunday somehow isn't vulturing?

Reading all the crybaby posts is fun. All the "subtle/hidden" defending of Federer and "subtle/hidden" bashing of everyone else. It really is funny. Nothing you people write is subtle/hidden. Bunch of crybabies. That's all this thread is now.
There really is no need for that cr*p, really. RF is the GOAT and that's it.bb.com, a place that turned Deadlift into a forearm isolation exercise

Really thought Nadal would eventually get beat and Fed would take it but tbh, can't somehow fault him. He's been really annoyingly consistent -- got to the final in AUS, won the French Open, Lost in the SF to the greatest grass player of all time, and now is a shoe in to win the US open. The defining slam that will allow Nadal to overtake Fed. If Fed won this, I didn't think he could.
The guy's showed no signs of slowing down -- and what's annoying is that, unlike Djoko or Fed, he hasn't lost to any scrubs or people he should be beating.
Really have to hope for Novak to make it all up because can't see Fed doing anything -- maybe Wimb.Chelsea FC ~ Lakers

Every fan copes in some way. When Djokovic was hugging it up and being flogged for two years you stopped posting. Nadal's chief nuthugger disappeared after Novak thrashed him in the Aus Open final and of course when he couldn't reach the QF anywhere for nearly 3 years those two didn't post at all. I'm not even going to hide my feelings: I wish the next generation stepped up already so we wouldn't be having these pointless arguments.
FFS you played tennis. You know by early 30s tennis players are physically past it. For 3 players to be so far in front of the pack at this stage of their careers with a stranglehold on the slams is embarrassing for the sport and quite frankly there is something fishy about it. Maybe 3 players because of their success are being allowed to bend the rules since the slam race is good for business so it's not a level playing field if you catch my drift.

Actually, it is just part of the reason I stopped posting. At that time I was diagnosed with a very dangerous illness(now under control). I watched my countryman grow up and progress. My younger brother played tennis too, the two played and trained together, often. There were always hints of "something doesn't add up" with Novak, but that it will all go to hell, meaning his "spiritualism", Pepe at the time I didn't post etc., I didn't really expect. It got on my nerves, and then some.
I cheared for him, probably always will, but some things will always bug me: like just now: I know his dumb mentality, I was asleep, the moment I woke up and read online "had some minimal problems with the shoulder, but all is good, I don't really wanna talk about it", I f ing knew he was gonna retire at the next possibility of someone threatening to beat him. He always did that, I hate him for it. He retires like a p*ssy. Because of such cr*p he can never be the goat, regardless of how much more GSs he wins. And I also said it a 100 times, he is NOT a complete player. His BH slice, OH and volleys are at a junior level at best. Ridiculous.
And that "maybe" of yours about allowing the 3 to bend the rules, cmon, there is no maybe. That is a sure thing, like in pretty much every sport.Last edited by ZoranM; 09-05-2019 at 01:00 PM.

Dopey right on cue with the tinfoil hat comments. Agassi tested positive to crystal meth in 1997 — the year he plummeted in the rankings — and they let it slide. It's all there in his book.
For me what makes it all fishy are the periods of going AWOL before storming back and looking invincible.
Feel free to point me to any other time in tennis where this happened aside from Agassi and a) he never dominated like that and b) his track record is already sketchy as mentioned. There were years where players dominated and then they declined.
Courier from 1991-1993 reached 7 slam finals winning 4. He didn't go away and then come back stronger. He hung around for another 7 years, reached 3 more SF in '94-'95, then sharply declined and retired in 2000. Hewitt had a stretch there where he won 2 slams in 2001-2002 and reached a couple more finals in 2004-2005. For the next 11 seasons he was a total non factor. By mid 20s he was pretty much done.
Sampras declined sharply after 1999 along with his ranking but had one last slam run left in him at the US Open where the stars aligned and he avoided a young gun in the final. He didn't go on a tear for a couple of years.
There are plenty of those stories and you guessed it that's what is supposed to happen. Players get old and players in their late teens, early 20s, start destroying them. Why isn't this happening?

Who bashed Novak after he beat Fed at Wimbledon? Fed fans were certainly disappointed but everyone gave him his due. Dude was clutch as hell... and has been over Fed for years now in that area.
Funny that your “dangerous illness” coincided almost exactly with Novak going AWOL.... gimme a fukkin break. No one’s buying that chit lol.

soooo....anyways, back to tennis
Rafa is far from having locked this up. Berrettini is the prototype of the player that can upset nadal. Tall, powerful flat shots, good serve. The only advantage nadal has is that Berettini might be nervous/tight.
And on the other side, Dimitrov has found his form out of nowhere. Medvedev has been the best HC player all season
Also, Nadal's forehand was utter crap vs Schwartzman.
I'd honestly like to see Dimi win, would be nice for him. Or the new guy, Berrettini.
I also don't give a ratf*ck about who's the GOAT> . Srsly, some of you guys take this way too seriously. We have been lucky enough to be in a golden era of tennis, and watched some of the most epic matches of all time.
I dont care if the young guys step up anytime soon, because most of them are boring to watch. They all want to win the point immediately. There's no strategy, no real "tennis". It's just ball bashing.***SRT PR Crew (Strong Rep to Post Ratio Crew)***
