In my opinion bush jr. is a bad president, he can't make a good speech, he is not too bright, he is anti-intelectual, he brings religion to the state, his specialty is personal backdoor deals and his administration lacks transparency.

But president only does so much, he is mostly a pr person, I think alot of people overestimate the impact one can make.

Edit: His administration is turning away or traditional allies and walked away from important treaties. NO diplomacy skills.

Clinton was probably one of the best presidents the US ever had, he was a genius and probably one of the best in the world in international diplomacy at the time. Your description of george bush makes him entirely appropriate to star in a john wayne movie, leave the real world up to men with minds.

He is a puppet of his administration. The only reason he won these past two elections is his personality. He appeals much more to the general public than Kerry, or Gore did. It is basically all personality. Most people in the U.S. are far too stupid to really think through the issues, through a president's policies with reasoning, and really weighing the issues. Iraq compaign is a disaster from "war on terror" point of view. The only reason why they are painting the rosey picture of saving iraqies from tyrrany is because without that, they have absolute no rationale left for the war.

are we not safer after the fall of the Berlin wall, the fall of communism in the soviet union, the fall of emperial Japan. Democracy being allowed to happen in countries turns former enemies into allies. If there is a free Iraq in the middle east that is a friend to help stop terrorism.
People want an quick fix, there isn't one. It took a long time in all of the other examples I listed above, and it will take a long time in the middle east. I am not only thinking about my saftey but the safety of my children and my future grandchildren.
