allright for everything Rugby union including the world cup, lets discuss it all here...
here are the pools for the cup
http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/EN/Home/Pools/
should b a good world cup i think. the standard of union has improved throughout the world i think, which is a good thing...
the rightful favourites would have to be New Zeland, although they tend to choke come semi finals time .
Australia's been playn 5hit, but they tend to lift for the big occasions and for the world cup. i havnt seen any of the asian sides play in a while.. and its good to see the USA in the world cup aswell, shows good growth of the game .
what are your guy's thoughts, who are your picks, who u going for and who are your dark horses.
i cant waitt !!!

NZ are unstoppable haha.. but like i mentioned be4, they dont do well in world cups .
u'd expect the main sides to be there in the semi's and in the final..
NZ, Aus, SA and England.. BUT i think Ireland could b a danger.. lets hope its not just a 1 sided event.. i wanna see some big upsets haha.. USA to beat NZ in the semi's haha.

There backline is good and i like Giteau at half back, but your right they cant do much and show there class when they dont get quality ball.

England? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - England couldn't beat Fiji. They're **** and managerless.
Best teams are
-NZ
-Irl
-Fra
-?
BUT France are at home and are so unpredictable that I would put them as 2nd favourites. Ireland also have teh ghey pool - France and Argentina with a possible NZ 2nd round.
Australia are a jammy team, wouldn;t be surprised to see them in the semis at least, and from thereonin it's open.Carlsberg don't do sexy, but if they did...

My sentiments exactly! It's been the same with Brazil in the World Cup time and time again. I think 2003 is the only time a team other than NZ went in as favourites (England were favourites after winning Grand slam and beating southern hemisphere teams, plus they had Wilko and Johnson playing amazing).
I remember in 95 after the sf when Lomu demolished England that everyone said South Africa would treat the final as their World Cup but they won (12-9 I think). In 99 NZ were again irresistible but lost in the SF to France iirc.
The one thing I feel that distinguishes this all blacks team though is their consistency and strength in depth. IMO the All Blacks' first and second teams are the two best teams in the world...Carlsberg don't do sexy, but if they did...

yeah there consistency is the key for them, every game they have played in the past year or so has been pretty much flawless.. as long as they dont get any major injuries to there key players, carter, mccaw, collins, etc, they should do well....
of course im hoping the wallabies get there act together by the world cup, but things dont look to promising as of now.
