Hai , was wondering if anybody is betting money on sports here .

If so , which sports do you bet on and do you just bet for fun without doing research or handicap the games before placing money ?

I know there is a poker thread in the section and many people are grinding the game daily but didn't see any threads about sports betting .

pretty much jus off top of my head but if i can i research sometimes on previous games etc.

I used to bet on australian basketball league but I see this year scores are very low , I remember there used to be teams that always had over 200 pts games .

Right now just doing NFL. Last week I went 9-3-1, pretty beastly. I cap with a few friends and have a few different systems I use. Not all weeks are as good as this one but I usually make decent bank.

I've started betting on NFL recently as well with mixed success , small profit but nothing huge .

Explained what money line , handicap , etc means .

+/- numbers next to handicap and total points are odds ( american )

If are indicated with a + sign then they show the amount you would win for a 100 stake. If there is a - sign then they show how much you need to stake to win 100.

EG : New York Yankees - 207 vs Philadelphia Phillies + 189

Bet $207 to win $100 on NY Yankees ( Your $207 back + $100 profit )

Bet $100 to win $189 on Phillies ( Your $100 back + $189 profit )

I do a lot of research with football, nothing with baseball, basketball or hockey. Looking at those lines though I like these bets

Over 9 Phillies/Yanks
Philly ML +189 is a good idea just because it's almost 2/1 odds. That's a steal
Spurs -2.5 seems too easy, would bank on that
Detroit Red Wings either -1.5 or ML is fine. -1.5 odds are great but ML isn't too bad

Haven't done any research for these, no writeups or anything but I like those picks. Might put money on the Spurs tonight but need to look more into it because it seems like the line should be higher

Washington Capitals @ Washington Capitals OVER 6 GOALS for me , - 110 .

They've just played 7 days ago and Capitals won 4-5 . Kovalchuk is not playing for Trashers today but they still should be able to net atleast 2 goals and Capitals will do the rest .

Spurs playing back to back after their win yesterday at home against NO . Was chatting with Derrick Rose yesterday , he said Bulls are gonna win today ( srs ) .

Like Red Wings as well but like over 5,5 goals even more in this one , should be plenty of chances .

I actually will book any bet...

i reccommend u do the same..

charge a little more juice than say Bodog does.. example... charge -115 instead of -110

its a better bet than sports betting and still makes it a ton of fun...

just see how many of ur friends are interested...

Was sweating there , so many chances whole game but 3-0 going into the last 20 mins , should have been 6 goals by that time . And then those last 3 mins just a beauty ...

Will try over in Capitals game again today , Islanders will probably sink in 2-3 goals and Capitals at home will score 4 times or more , - 110 odds on over 6 goals .

3-3 end but overtime score counts so end was 4-3 for Islanders and over cashes once again .

Ottawa Senators vs Atlanta Thrashers , like the over 6 goals in this one at + 110 and Ottawa over 3 team total goals . Game starts in a round 90 minutes . Both have shaky defense , especially Atlanta so this can easily end 5-2 or 4-3.

End : 3-1 , Ottawa had 51 shots on goal which is like record this season and only managed to score once , Atlanta had 21 shots and scored 3 , ouch .

Finally a solid boxing bet I see :

Yonnhy Perez vs Joseph Agbeko , live on Showtime tonight .

Over 10,5 rounds at - 175 odds .

Both are very solid boxers and I cant see either being stopped . Over 10.5 rounds means if fight doesn't get stopped before 10th rd 1:30 it's a win . A lot of pressure on me to keep 18-1 boxing record since 1st January of this year :-/

The over on Blazers/Thunder, and Lakers/Hawks, and I took Minny +13 against the Suns, I also took the money line +950.

I like Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings over 46 a lot . Raptors vs Magic over 200 , Phoenix team total over 116 pts , over 195 in Lakers game .
