certain foods while trying to lose weight

hey guys, i am 5"9 165. i want to cut down to 150 and then work my way up to 160ish. my workout routine is basically lifting 3 days a week and running 4 days a week. in terms of my diet, i just want to eat healthier for now. i am not going to get too picky about hitting a specific calorie number or getting all detailed but i had a few questions. thank you for your time

    1) is it a big difference to eat 3 meals a day as compared to 5? how many calories per meal is too big while trying to lose weight?

    2) i often hear people say they eat "clean" while cutting. what does this mean exactly? and are foods such as pita bread and condiments(kethcup and hot sauce)okay while losing weight?(pita is my favorite bread)

    3) how many pounds should i am to lose per week? i have lost a lot of weight before but i was basically starving myself. all the weight came back plus more. how do i lose the weight and keep it off?

thank you for your help. i appreciate it a lot!

thats going to make efficient cutting a lot more difficult than you think
Given enough time, any man may master the physical. With enough knowledge, any man may become wise. It is the true warrior who can master both, and surpass the result.

    1) Nope, you can eat one meal a day and be fine, as long as at the end of the day you hit your macros it doesn't really matter.
    2) They mean eating healthy choice of foods, doesn't have many benefits as far as body composition goes but it's healthier, and some people find it easier to stay satiated on foods with more fibers, complex carbs, etc.
    3) I'd suggest at least 1lb and at most 2lbs. To keep it off you must realize that dieting isn't something you do as a fix and then let go, you should still be controlling what you eat after you're done, eating the way you feel like is what made your weight go up and if you go back to that you'll gain the weight back.

wait..so if i eat 150 calories of white bread vs 150 calories of wheat bread there is basically no difference in terms of the way my body will look? (overtime obviously)

Do you want to lose fat or water weight? If fat, calories is the key factor in cutting, mang.
