Black Pete had different names (Jan de knecht, Trappadoeli, Nicodemus, Assiepan, Sabbas, Hans Moef, Pikkie, Robbert, Krik-krak, Micheltje, Hansje van Vese (of Hansje van Kese), Jacques Jour (of Sjaak Sjoor)), and the name 'Pieter' was seen first in 1859.

They banned those kinds of drawings in 1940-1970 I think. Because Winsor McCay used to draw those styles since it was the normal back then in 1900-1920
