I usually freeze it for 5-12 hours depending on how busy I am that day. The longer you freeze it, the longer you'll have to leave it out.
As some people have found, mixing every hour or so may help although I am not at available to do this usually.

    Hope that helps
It did, thanks! Now I just need to find some patience to wait for my sludge to freeze.

    Peanut-chocolate fudge pumpkin slushy-sludge.

Mix-ins added. Or, as I thought while I was adding them, the moment all the ice skaters fell into the pond. Once I mixed the sludge some more, the middle melted the edges a bit and the edges slightly froze the middle. It made a very interesting texture, kind of like Italian ice dessert at times. The name is because peanut takes center stage instead of the usual chocolate-peanut butter; this doesn't involve peanut butter but puts peanut flavor over the rest.

The peanut flavor comes from Byrd Mill 12% Fat Dark Roast Peanut Flour, available online. Definitely recommend, much more macro-friendly than peanut butter :P
Not as assertive of a flavor, but still good.

I used to use Protein Plus, but Byrd Mill is now cheaper (by a few cents, hehe) from my source. IMO they taste pretty much the same, but Byrd Mill smells more strongly of peanut butter.

Fwiw, if you mix it with da Vinci zero cal vanilla syrup and a little salt instead of the suggested water, it's spot on for regular natty PB.

Or you could mix it with cream cheese and Stevia to use as frosting or a melting PB spread. It'd be like grilled cheese sandwiches, but using peanut butter for the cheese... grilled peanut butter sandwich? I like to use fat free ricotta for the natural sweet flavor in comparison to cream cheese, but I think I remember reading one of your posts stating your preference for cream cheese. Just an option

yup...and it works fantastic with cottage cheese (pureed). The saltiness only adds to the PB element.

I've tried GY and CC with eggs and beans before, it was all right. But if you would use protein powder, I'd assume it's best to go flavorless.

GY, CC, sugar/fat free pistachio pudding mix, and pistachios.

Frozen solid (on the top layer) after partial churning, hence the funky bits protruding at odd angles.

Cinnamon theme: Cinnabon cereal, Cinnamon Roll Frosted Mini Wheats, Cinnamon Burst Cheerios.
And other mix-ins, of course. Not pictured: English muffin.

Started adding whole grain oat flour to my sludges and I love it. Gives it a good texture and makes me full just from eating it in a base.

That's where we differ...I don't like adding protein powder to my mixes. A little Splenda/Truvia and cinnamon. The protein powder changes the texture too much and reduces the creaminess.
